Hollywood has done much to further the idea that whites are out to get blacks. Wouldn't it be great if someone made a movie about a group of blacks who run around in military clothing making speeches about killing crackers and then associated those speeches with an increase in black on white violence? They could even throw in a couple of faux reverends, a hateful Muslim leader and a super racist liberation theologist. Then, just for good measure, they could have a President who campaigned on unity but once elected, travels the Country preaching about social justice and the need for the rich (read whitey) to ‘pay their fair share’. Call it a documentary.

The rich have many tax loopholes that the rest of Americans don't have, allowing them to effectively pay less in taxes than the middle class.
We need to at the very least get rid of these loopholes!
1) What movies are these? Even 1992's "Malcolm X" movie didn't try to push that kind of agenda (and the movie showed his black separatist phase from 1952-1962/63 in great detail). It explicitly showed Malcolm being a better man overall after his pilgrimage to Mecca and seeing Muslims of all races and colors worshiping together and sharing everything they had. And keep in mind the director was Spike Lee, who white conservatives accuse of being the movie equivalent of Kwame Toure.

2) Since when is Obama a Muslim and since when does he proclaim to believe in liberation theology? How does one believe in Liberation Theology (which is Christian) AND Islam at the same time? -___- Dumbass.
3) Social justice is a BAD thing? 0__0
I guess you also think helping sick kids or giving to the homeless is a bad thing....
4) Since when does "the rich" mean "whitey"? Talk about projection. Around 10-15% of rich people in the US are nonwhite.
5) Since when is liberation theology "racist"? There are white Hispanic (Hispanics of chiefly European ancestry) Liberation Theology leaders in Latin America.

@Vox: It probably has a lot to do with the common Southern...or better still, old Barabadosian...understanding of liberty.

Long story short, ones like Liberalhater don't think universal liberty is POSSIBLE. Liberty is only gained by snaring it from someone else, and better it be the ones who are already aligned to (allegedly) divine ideals who do the snaring.
Ladies and gentlemen, the poet laureate of Freedom-is-Slavery Republic.
Anyway, it sounds like you want to remake every 80s action movie in existence. Or you could just mosey on down to the nearest DVD rental.
Yes, all those people exist.
Cry me a river, privileged fuckhead.
@ Skyknight:
...This explains everything. I think I have had a second epiphany. My first such epiphany was the realization that American foreign policy has, starting with the Cold War and continuing to the present, caused far more harm than good in the world. This is what led me to rant about how bad the United States is compared to other Western countries. But now, this article has given me more perspective. (But I will still complain vociferously about my country when fundies appear promoting creationism or plutocracy.) Basically, it's all the South's fault; I kind of suspected this ever since I first learned about the Civil Rights Movement back in elementary school.
The one thing that the article does not explain is the historical existence of the robber barons. All of them were northerners who acquired their fortunes in industry rather than plantation agriculture. It is mostly their influence that the rich have special priveleges in society and that the United States never took social reforms to the same level as Western Europe.
Even then, the one thing that still worries me is that it looks like the Southern elites are gaining even more power at the expense of the Northern elites and everyone else, such that they could very well take over the country and turn it into a Caribbean hell. There is rarely any news about liberal victories over conservatives. What if we're all too late to stop them?
@ Brendan
Then we mortals will tremble before the coming of the end.
Other than that, this guys' idea once again puts forth the mistaken notion that liberal and conservative are a simple dichotomy. Not much irritates me more than that. Real life isn't Star Wars. But these fools seem stuck in an "us or them" mentality all the goddamn time.
Confused?
