Do Christians know what the Olympic torch means?
...
In Greek mythology, the original “torch-bearer” was Prometheus, the Titan who stole fire from the gods in order to give it to humanity...
The act of “carrying the torch” is symbolic of man’s awareness of his own “divine spark” and represents his aspiration to become “one of the gods”. This is, in a nutshell, the core philosophy of the world’s elite, which is heavily influenced by the teachings of Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism and Illuminism. For this reason, Prometheus’ Torch of Illumination is often found in the occult elite’s symbolism.

So what? YOUR ancestor stole an apple from your god, agains express orders. How's that better? Does that make apple an occult symbol?
And by the way,I'm pretty sure Prometheus was not a Titan, merely a hero. And hoo boy, did HE get what was coming to him...
Isn't this more of a CSTDT? What with the Illuminati and Masons?
Although, someone being apalled that humans want to be more than worms grovelling before almighty Sky Daddy sure has some fundieness.
BTW, Prometheus was a titan. The Greek myths also credit him with creating humanity from clay, among other cool things.
Isn’t the Olympic torch ignited in the old Zeus temple in Olympia, Greece? Zeus was not really the biggest fan of Prometheus
(And I don’t think you really put much research into your conspiracy theory. Here you have the unique opportunity to include the Nazis without “Godwinning” [is that a word?] and you miss it!)
Well, speaking as a Brit, I certainly know what the Olympic Torch means (especially as it passed through my city, Hull, just a few weeks ago, on it's relay around the UK)...
...in just ten days time, we'll be hosting the Greatest Show on Earth, and you fundies in the US won't XP
And how it'll stick in your collective craws over there, that this time we won't have to get up at unholy hours of the day to watch events live (example: an athletics event at, say, 10 AM our time, will be shown in the US at 5 - 2 AM) It's your turn to suffer! [/smug & superior] >:D
There's a quicker way, you know:
"Christians made up the Lucifer character based on the Prometheus figure and demonized it to ensure their followers wouldn't mess with other religions."
Done.
Do xians know what the broom means?
IT is a symbol of witches and their dark madjick in the medieval period. People who supposedly made pacts with the debil. And as such....any self respecting, non sinning xian would only own a vacuum cleaner, and NEVER own a broom.
Jeez....this is as silly as never eating a Caesar salad. As you should "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and render unto gawd what id gawd's". I mean....the salad belongs to Caesar so you have to give it to him. Cant eat it. But that brings up the question....can xians eat greek salads without sinning?
...the teachings of Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism and Illuminism.
Well, with the torch, OK, illuminism, sure.

@Mister Spak
I know fundies want to live in the past, but rejecting cave man technology is really living in the past.
Yeah, they hate all forms of science and knowledge - now we can't even have Fire? What's up with that?
Other stuff that originally had pagan religious connections: money, writing, buildings with columns, calendars. Be sure to avoid them.
the core philosophy of the world’s elite
Dear Amanda, don't worry, you can sleep quietly tonight: nobody will make a connection between you and any elite, ever.
You're as far from being a member of the elite as humanly possible, you can be very sure of that.
Dear sinner 13013924827492847927402197301937013 aka Amanda Hopkins,
the torch bearer was introduced by one of our most famous heroes. It was 1936 for the polympic games in Berlin.
CU soon....
Don't act so surprised! I bet Amanda Hopkins would see "occult" (which just means 'hidden') symbolism in a bowl of corn flakes.
Bowls were used in scrying by the pagans and a corn deity was worshipped. Milk represents fertility...a fertility goddess was worshipped
See, I can play too :p
It's hilarious that they get so worked up about ancient mythology like it's still being practiced somewhere as a religion.
It's like they're keenly aware that their stupid faith is just mythology as well but they don't want to admit it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
