Same-sex greeting cards??? Really????

What groups will they advertise/pander to next? Will they pander to the gang bangers of the world, and have sales on Trayvon Martin style hoodies???

Will they pander to the drug addicts, or the hoarders next? Hoarder type people would be good customers, because they fill their houses with so much C**p everywhere. Let’s have adds showing houses filled to the brim, so you can’t even walk in there. But if the stuff is from JC Penney, it’s all good.

Cater to the baby mamas too. And why not go for homeless chic too????? There’s lots of marketing possibilities.

Gay activists tell us that it’s “hetero-normative” to have adds which show moms and dads and kids, because that sets a standard which hurts the self esteem of those who don’t fit in. So, there you have it. Retailers want to make a political statement with all of this.

Oh My Dog!

Retailers want to make a political statement with all of this.

No, retailers want to make money, and why do you care anyway? Seriously, I want to know.

If it makes them money, that's their only objective. Really, it's that simple. They'll do all of those things you listed if it brings in a profit.

"What groups will they advertise/pander to next?"

People who murder doctors? Or gun down multiple people in a church during a childrens play? Or shoot winning candidates who are of the wrong party? People who don't retreat, they reload? People who think every nutcase should have an assault rifle with a 50 round clip because the founding fathers wanted it that way?

Retailers want to make a political statement with all of this.

Let me guess, you're a 9 to 5er in a big company and sit in some boring pigeon hole doing boring stuff all day.

Well, some people run businesses and have to really work to turn a profit. Political statements are rarely on the top of their list. Satisfying customers is.

You'd think that a freeper, of all the nutjobs out there, would have a small inkling of how capitalism functions.

They already pander to the gang bangers of the world.

Not to be pedantic, but assault rifles don't use clips, they use magazines, and 50 rounds makes that magazine impractically long, unless it uses a strange caliber or design like the FN P90, which has 50 round mags mounted on top of the barrel along its axis, it's also a submachinegun and uses strange 5.7x28mm rounds.

Generally one who is preoccupied with racial stereotypes is a racist. It's especially disgusting that this freak demonizes a kid who would still be alive if his killer had simply minded his own business and/or followed the instructions given to him.

For a so-called Republican, Dilbert doesn't seem to have even a basic understanding of capitalism; supply and demand being the core concept.

These could be great for a few laugh. I would anonymously mail them to the few bigoted homophobes I know, then wait for the fireworks.

I've seen "Mahogany cards" for years, aimed at black consumers. Someone at Hallmark obviously realized that there was a whole market for cards that hadn't been exploited, and jumped on it.

Maybe Dilbert would be happier if there was a section in card shops for "heterosexual white couple" so he wouldn't have to be exposed to other possibilities.

I thought you conservative types loved free market capitalism. Apparently not when it means companies cater to people that you don't like. Well, tough. If a company wants to market to gays they can do so. If a company wants to market to homeless people, they can do so too. And if they want to pander to self-righteous, right wing extremists they can do that too. That's capitalism.

Love thy neighbor.

Unless they're gays, thugs, addicts, hoarders, unwed mothers, homeless...

I think you're disappointing Jesus.

They pander to gay people because they know gay people have money, just like everyone else.
