If anything this promotes heterosexuality, as the plan actually depends on the male mosquitoes mating with female ones.

Being sterilized makes you gay? Wow. I've been saying (quite seriously) for years that I wish I were gay. After all, I have no moral objection to it, I have no desire to have children, and gay men have as much sex as straight men WISH they had. So, yeah, being gay would be awesome. There would be no downside, and a huge upside.
Unfortunately, it clearly doesn't work. I had a vasectomy eight years ago. I still like women, and have no sexual interest in men. Damn you lying Rapture Ready nutjobs for getting my hopes up.
(And we know from the abysmal failure of ex-gay ministries that sexual orientation can't be changed, so I guess there's no hope for me. I'm stuck in the life of a straight man and all the infrequent sex that goes along with it.)
