[RE. the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting]

We don't have a crime problem, a gun problem or even a violence problem. What we have is a sin problem. And since we've ordered god out of our schools, and communities, the military and public conversations, you know we really shouldn't act so surprised... when all hell breaks loose.

Oh, STFU Huckabee. You're way past relevance.

OK, Mike. What's your explanation for the Oikos University shooting?

Or, for that matter, any of the shootings we've had before we "ordered God out of our schools and communities"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shooting

Incidentally, and I'm sure that you know this, but you keep stirring this shit up:

Religion has not been ordered out of our schools. Students can pray at any time, provided that they are not disruptive.

Religion has not been ordered out of our communities. Take a look around you, Mike. Religion in America is alive and well.

Religion has not been ordered out of the Military. I don't even know what the hell you're talking about here.

As for public conversations--are we not discussing religion publicly? Have you been stifled in some way?

Here's a more likely scenario: you're stirring up your base with paranoid lies, persecution fantasies, and propaganda. Amirite?

This fucking country has a God problem...what kind of country are we living in where politicians and public figures feel the need to push religion to the center stage at the expense of actual social problems?

Somebody should point out to Mike that this type of thing used to happen with alarming frequency even back when they still had the Lord's Prayer in schools. Removing it didn't change a thing.

Sweden.

Guns everywhere.

Predominantly atheist.

Mass shootings: Something like zero.

Sin is not the reason; it's your fucked up society. I don't have solutions, but something's clearly gone very, very wrong somewhere in America.

(stamps foot) Out of my school, God! And don't come back until you promise to stop disrupting science classes, sports events, and graduations!

Yes, we should all do what Mike Fuck-a-bee tells us to do. That way, this would have never happened. 'Cause everyone knows there's no such thing as a Christian terrorist *cough*BREVIK*cough*.

Speaking of which, wasn't the shooter a practicing Presbyterian or whatever? Yeah. That sure helped.

Don't let his act fool you. The Huckster is as crazy as anyone in the country.

Our big national shame is that it's easier for a psychopath to but a military grade deadly weapon than it is for a law abiding minor to buy condoms or a six-pack of beer and every freakin' Reichwhiner goes (more) nuts when anyone suggests looking into ways to prevent said psychopaths from buying deadly weapons.

7/30/2012 9:59:28 AM

so we dont have a problem with preists buggering little boys ? its just sin which any christian would not risk doing ?

wait a minute ! are preists not christian ? why does God not smite them ? could it be that God likes the screams of little boys ?

religeous schools exists, no problem with that.
the military has chaplains, thats ok
congress has a religeous blessing when they convene, thats questionable but ok.

And since we've ordered god out of our schools, and communities, the military and public conversations, you know we really shouldn't act so surprised ...

God hasn't been ordered out of any of these things. It's the government that has been ordered out of promoting your particular version of God, (or mine, or the Pope's or Fred Phelp's or Mullah Omar's or the Cherokee's or the Dalai Lama's ...)

Prove to me that such a thing as "sin" exists, and I might listen to you.

If we can order your god out of our affairs, he's too weenie to save anyone from flea bites.

Even vultures wouldn't touch your rancid carcass, you filth.

Sad thing is, Mike Huckabee IS one of the saner conservative American politicians.

That's what happens when more than half of the eligible voters don't do their civic duty. (Voter turnout in 2010 is less than 40%)

You fuckin' retard, murders were happening when GAWHD was still in schools. When do you think the U.S. genocide against Native Americans happened? In the 60s? No, we don't have a "sin" problem, since sin does not exist, but we do have an idiot problem, as Mr. Huckabee shows.

What we have is a sin problem.

Yup.

In a country where a bunch of hypocrits who call themselves Christians support the barbaric death penalty, we definitely have a sin problem.

If I were God, I wouldn't want to have anything to do with such a despicable group of inhuman miscreants either.

I don't know why this still astonishes me!

Every single time some tragedy happens, some religious nut exploits it to push a religious agenda!

How self-righteous can you get?

Wehpudicabok

Let's look at some countries which have "ordered God out". According to Gallup, 36% of Americans say that religion is not an important part of their lives. Significantly less religious developed nations would obviously have a higher such percentage; in Sweden it's 88%, in Britain 76%, in Japan 71%.

Now compare the homicide rates in these countries.* The number of homicides committed in the year 1999 per 100,000 people in these countries are:

Sweden: 0.94
Britain: 0.49
Japan: 0.30
United States: 4.55

Hey, wow, these countries have less God AND less violence! Whoda thunk it?

(I don't think the inverse of Huckabee's claim - that belief in God actually increases crime rates - is true either. But the evidence is more in favor of this than of his bullshit.)
