Always with the violent overthrow ideas. I swear, you conservatives must feel totally impotent to always want to resort to violence instead of effecting change through legal and peaceful means.
If what you say about public schooling is true, then I'm all for keeping it. The worst thing to happen to the country is to allow the Catholic church to educate our children.

The catholic church needs to educate the young. Especially education by catholic priests.
Education by catholic preists is especially important. Young people need to be in constant contact with catholic priests in order to be educated. The younger the better. And keep the interfering government out of it.

Here in Sweden, the Protestants removed the influence of the Catholic Church centuries before we started with public schools.
Yes, the Catholic Church has been educating the young since before the Fall of Rome. It was hardly public schooling though, as it was just the rich young men who were educated, and not even all of them.

*"secular Protestant governments"
Oxymoric,isn't?
*"remove the influence of the Catholic Church over the education of the young"
Yeah, we have understand what you want: make Protestantism the state religion and submit children who aren't protestant (ie who are Catholics, Jews, etc) to a religious instruction not in accordance to their parent's religion.
In fact, the catholic private schools have been created in the 1850s by the Irish/Polish/German immigrants who wanted their children be educated in their faith and not in the dominant religion nor by peoples like you.
And which branch of "Protestantism" has your favors for be the established church?

Actually, one of the the strongest voices for secular government in Western history were Protestant denominations. The Baptists, in particular, were advocates of freeing government from religious shackles and allowing people to believe and worship as they chose. Obviously, that was a long time ago, and modern Baptists have clearly betrayed the noble principles their denomination was founded on.
Still, when Protestant fundamentalists bitch and moan about the secularization of society, we have every right to say, "it was you lot's idea!"

There are serious problems with public schools, but that ain't it. Also, your glee over the prospect of lynching is sick. Seek help.

Now, I'm not for lynching anyone but if we had to get rid of anyone it wouldn't be someone as useful as a teacher, it would be someone as useless as a preacher.

Isn't this the reason why there are private schools so that John C. Wright can give his children to a church influenced education?

and the return of all their power into private hands
1) Private schools already exist.
2) Protestants, Muslims, and even atheists can start their own private schools if there are no public schools so you still end up accomplishing nothing. And even if kids can only go to Catholic school that's still no guarantee that they'll believe your beliefs as their parents can contradict you.
