[In response to someone being against banning Islam]
What if the "religion" commands it's adherents to, Murder, take Slaves, take sex slaves, lie, steal, marry 6 year old little girls, have sex with dead wives, beat wives?
To "Respect" a "Religion", the "Religion" has to be respectable in the first place.
Ban the queeran!

How true. Repeat 100 times, maybe you'll get it.
Murder, slavery, some forms of lying, theft, statutory rape and battery are crimes. They are already banned.

Oh the delicious irony. Look in the Old Testament buddy. You'll find a lot of things that most people wouldn't consider "respectable".
@ Oh My Dog- In the land of the Free Republic (Evil CloudCuckoo Land) there is a mass overriding conspiracy involving the Muslims/Gays/Atheists/Commies and all. So the queeran is an offhand joke. Also, it may have been the only thing he could think of when he wrote it.
For the OP: You missed the OT didn't you?

Well that's Christianity out, then.
Agreed.
Let's ban ALL Holy Books.
Not from believers in their own homes or places of worship, just from schools, government buildings, and places where mature adult thought is needed.

Translation:
To "Respect" a "Religion", the "Religion" has to be pure lilly white Southern Baptist Christianity in the first place.
Ehm, this guy doesn't know the Quran is based on the Old Testament, does he? Mozes, Joshua of Nazareth, both are prophets to Islam along with Mohammed. That stuff about stoning 'blasphemers', slaves, beating your wife, when it's okay to murder, steal and lie despite the commandments? Carry-overs from before year zero. If anything, the Quran is a fount of enligthenment and progress compared to the Old Testament, actually containing rules on how to divorce your wife or husband(!). Or the manumission of slaves, and when it is mandatory(!) to do so. Or how about a prohibition on killing unbelievers solely for holding other religious beliefs? Sure it gets ignored and dismissed by chauvinists, conservatives and fundamentalists. But if Freepers are going to hold their existance against an entire religion, I have a mirror they might want to look into.

You just described the Old Testament to a tee. So we'll cut you a deal: You can ban Islam if you let us ban Christianity as well. If it makes you feel better, we'll be using the same standards you used to judge Muslims.

So we should ban Christianity too?
How about if a "religion" says you should rape lesbians in order to cure them?

Also there is a beam in your eye.
I take it that the misspelling was on purpose? Associating it with homosexuals, which given my reading on this site, many of his group believe to be an inferior lifestyle.
Also, he's a fucking hypocrite
There's just one problem; most of what you accuse the "queeran" of, can also be found in the "babble". Just as the "babble" builds on the Torah, the "queeran" builds on the "babble". The "babble" says Onan's dad ordered Onan to father a child with his dead brother's wife. Onan didn't want to have sex with his brother's wife* and refused, and was killed by God for that. Oh, and it's generally harder to be "queer" in a Muslim country than in a Christian or secular country.
* Actually, he didn't want his brother to get the honor of being the father, he wanted to have kids in his own name.
Confused?
