This sounds familiar

I swear I heard this in 2004 and 2008, but that can't be right.

Quote# 89212

Will Obama Keep Power 'by Any Means Necessary'?

Let's go there: if Obama thinks he's losing, will he allow safe and fair elections on November 6? And if he does lose, will he peacefully turn over power to Mitt Romney on January 20, 2013? Or will he cling to power "by any means necessary," as a highly placed insider alleges?

Now, I'm truly sorry to raise such disgusting, un-American, crazy-sounding questions, but, alas, they're not crazy, and I've got a disquieting amount of evidence. The Democrats have already accused Romney of murdering a woman with cancer, financial felonies, and not filing taxes for ten years -- the last charge delivered by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on the Senate floor, on the basis of absolutely no evidence whatsoever.

By Democrat standards, I've got enough proof to put away Obama, et al. for life without parole.

Whatever chicanery Obama and his investors may be contemplating, it will probably unfold against some gargantuan crisis, manufactured or otherwise.

"I've got a disquieting amount of evidence."

No you haven't.

And this should be in CSTDT.

Don't worry, the recent declarations of Romney's colistier will make sute that Obama will win the elections.

And when Obama steps down after serving his final term as president, what then? How ever will you stoke fear, paranoia and xenophobia next?

I wonder how the metafiction that you call 'reality' will realign itself when that happens. It'll be fascinating to watch, I know that much.

Premise 1: If people on one side accuse the opposite side of dastardly things, that proves the accusing side is planning to cancel elections. (That's Stella Paul's "evidence" for the Obama coup: that Democrats are accusing Republicans of Bad things.)

Premise 2: Stella Paul (Republican) accuses the Democrats of planning to cancel elections and seize power in a coup.

Premise 3: Planning to cancel elections and seize power in a coup is a dastardly thing.

Therefore....

Care to actually present any of this disquieting amount of evidence?

So, you would rather vote for someone who wears magic underwear, believes he will get his own planet when he dies and that his god lives on the planet kolob (Read it backwards) etc, etc.

This is a sane politician in the USA? And you are going to vote for him to lead your nation?

Our world needs help, where's Superman when you need him.

Yes, you did hear it 2004 and 2008, only it was paranoid democrats saying it about Shrub.

Republicans claimed that Obama could eliminate the questions about his legitimacy by releasing his birth certificate. Romney could presumably do the same thing by releasing those tax returns, right?

I swear I heard this in 2004 and 2008, but that can't be right.

2004 and 2008? Hell I heard this about Clinton back in 1996 and 2000. I guarantee we'll be hearing this about Obama again in 2016 if he wins a second term.

By Democrat standards, I've got enough proof to put away Obama, et al. for life without parole.

Yeah, just look at his skin color. There's ample evidence that he is guilty of being president while black.

First off, Reid didn't accuse Romney of not filing his taxes. He said Romney didn't pay any taxes. It's a huge distinction.

Second, it's not the democrats who are passing laws that will disenfranchise voters and keep them away from the polls. It's the republicans. Under the guise of preventing "voter fraud". (I suppose by their standards, any time a voter doesn't flip the switch for a republican, it's fraud...)

If you do in fact have said evidence, then it is your duty as a patriotic American citizen to present it immediately in a court of law. To do otherwise would be an act of sedition.

"The Democrats have already accused Romney of murdering a woman with cancer, financial felonies, and not filing taxes for ten years -- the last charge delivered by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on the Senate floor, on the basis of absolutely no evidence whatsoever. "

Nobody accused Romney of any of these things, but you claim they did, on the basis of absolutely no evidence whatsoever.

Actually, he renounced his U.S. citizenship several years ago, so even if he were real, he wouldn't be of any help here. *sad sigh*

So the other two claims have evidence behind them? Hmmm, do tell...

8/28/2012 7:10:11 AM

You have zero evidence except lies and paranoia. Even Harry Reid has more than that.

@ Da Rat Bastid:
No, he didn't. That was an Elseworlds (out-of-continuity) story. In the old Dc continuity, Supes was directly granted citizenship by JFK and was covered by Reagan's amnesty. In the new continuity (DC rebooted their continuity last year), it's anyone's guess but he seems to be old enough to be covered by the Reagan amnesty.

Please provide this evidence. Surely, something that dramatic is worthy of a lot of media coverage.

To be honest, the prospect of a Romney administration is so terrifying that I'm not sure I would blame Obama if he did illegally refuse to turn over power.

No and no. Even if space aliens vaporized the West coast with death rays the President doesn't have the authority to call off elections. Remember FDR? He had to run for reelection during WW2.

And, as for refusing to leave office, the military outnumbers and outguns the Secret Service so there's no mechanism by which a President who lost a election could defy said election's results.

No one accused Mittens of murder. A PAC ad, not the Obama campaign, featured a man who lost his wife because Bain Capital outsourced his job and he lost his health insurance.

The speculation about "financial felonies" as well as the issue of how much Mittens has paid in taxes, once again coming from people other than President Obama or his campaign, would go away if he produced more financial records. As the Reichwhiners love to say; "if you've done nothing wrong, you've nothing to hide". We don't know that Mittens has done anything wrong but he is definitely hiding something.

This comment by Stella demonstrates how the Teabaggers/Neocunts et al know that it's hopeless for the Repubicans ousting Obama. The very fact they're now reduced to dragging out the dead bottom-feeders - after their last best hope: Dumbya - to try to oppose this Democrat president's 2nd term campaign, proves this.

A 'flip-flopping' policy-wise (previously pro abortion, pro-LGBT etc), out of touch with the electorate, gaffmeister ('Britain's not ready', re. our 2012 London Olympics, eh...?!), Mor(m)on?!

...otherwise you wouldn't be reduced to saying this, if your precious 'GOP' was so confident & assured that it had the right candidate: a winnable one

Seems that Obama has nothing to worry about - especially in the debates; with Romney's 'Foot In Mouth Disease' whenever he has to speak 'off-script' (and he has a team of scriptwriters, to tell him what to think), all Obama has to do is to throw in a policy/verbal spanner in the debate works. Then Mr. 'Magic Pants' is fucked. >:D

And then on that night later this year when Romney concedes to Obama, and the Repubicans tear themselves apart, especially when - considering the last lot of dead bottom-feeders, and they've dredged the polluted candidate pond empty, then...! [/Hyper-Schadenfreude]
