The fact God created this large universe full of galaxies and stars doesn't assume there's life on them. They're there for this reason:
Ps 19:1 - Show Context The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
The heavens declare the glory of God. That's a good reason for all the planets, stars, etc. to be there.
