God and the United States are merged very strongly.

This needs a thread all by its self. Some are having trouble in understanding elementary school civics. In elementary civics we teach the "separation o church and state" whereas we do not teach "separation of state and God." As difficult as this concept is for some liberals who try to twist American freedom into some type of humanism and moral relativity, Americans have chosen an absolute God as the bases of government. Why can some of you not see our freedoms folks not grasp the truth that Americans have never given up their faith in God? Americans have used the instructions of God to build on the Rock our freedoms and liberties into our government.

America is unique among democratic countries because we have kept God as a provider of our self-evident rights. If we allow humanist and liberals to take God out of government. as we rightly have done the church. we no longer have an authority for America;s greatness. When God is gone then we are gone as a unique country and our freedoms and liberties are gone.

Click the above, Gadfly. Read it very carefully. Done that, Gadfly? Good. Now, find for me the words 'God', Jesus' and 'Creator' therein. To make things easier, just click 'Edit', then 'Find' on your browser, and type in those words, one after the other.

The phrase 'When you see it (or in this case, not) you'll shit bricks'. It exists for a reason. 'When God is gone then we are gone as a unique country and our freedoms and liberties are gone'?! He never fucking existed there in the first place, as your own Constitution proves.

The phrase 'Separation of Church and State'. That exists for a reason; as in 'We the government won't tell you who/how to worship, you the fundies don't have the fucking right to tell us how to run the country'. The reason being that the alternative, as demonstrated by Saudi Arabia & Iran: Theocracies.

Moral: Theocracy. Democracy. Learn the difference. It could save your life. Literally.

That would be the case if the founding fathers hadn't declared the clergy to be enemies of liberty.

I haven't read the whole Bible. But I don't think there's a part where it says, "Go ye to an as yet undiscovered continent and decimate the native population. Then set up a democratic republic with a congress and a senate patterned after Rome. For there ye shall have freedom of speech and assembly, and the right to bear arms, and not go to church if you don't want". If that were the case, would it not apply to all Christians?
There is a part though about obeying authority because it is instituted by God. God-ordained authority like, you know, King George III.
It's the truths that are self-evident, the rights are "unalienable". Get it right.
Why do you need an "authority" for "greatness"? The authority for rights and freedoms is already there; the Constitution, with its 27 amendments, backed up by the law.
"When God is gone". He's not gonna be "gone" because, as the atheists would have it, he was never there, any more than he was anywhere else. He is also supposed to be eternal, and present at all points anyway.

While the U.S. is a nation of Christians (at least around 80% of it is), it is not a Christian nation. What you fail to understand is that you are permitted to have all the faith you want. Believe in Jesus and run your life according to your beliefs. No one wants to take that away from you. What we don't want is for you to decide that the remaining 20% of us should be required to live our lives according to your religious beliefs.

This is why we have the separation of church and state that you alluded to. To prevent any one religious belief from forcing it's views on other people who don't believe in that faith. It protects you just as much as it protects everyone else.
