["Saudis Building Women-Only City"]

This is overly generous of the Muslim men, and most likely destabilizing. By being recklessly chivalrous, Saudi men are introducing a cancer to Saudi society.

If I were the governing forces in Saudi Arabia, I would export Saudi women who wanted to work to other countries; for example, flush the trouble makers into America or Britain and let them slave away.

I would then replace the unhappy exports with new imports who were happy with Saudi life.

I think the Saudi man’s inexperience with feminism has caused them to make a decision which will eventually destroy the Saudi family and bring misery to the entire country. This is a big mistake.

No, you are a mistake.

Your views are outdated and will happily not remain in the next generation.

Oh My Dog!

If I were the governing forces in Saudi Arabia, I would export Saudi women who wanted to work to other countries; for example, flush the trouble makers into America or Britain and let them slave away.

Well, that would actually make their lives better.

I would then replace the unhappy exports with new imports who were happy with Saudi life

Good luck finding volunteers.

You didn't think this out, did you?

Then go to Saudi Arabia. Nobody is stopping you.

The Spearhead thinks that the Saudi government is "overly chivalrous".

The Spearhead in a nutshell!

A city just for women? How far into the mud have we fallen where our inability to coexist (further highlighted by this scum) makes this a reality? I weep for the fate of the human race.

WTF'ed for the phrase "recklessly chivalrous".

So book yourself a one-way flight for Riyadh.

I agree with him about one thing, though: this is not going to end well for the Saudi rulers.

No, Ford has a better idea. Why don't we just send all you Dickheads to Saudi Arabia?

Let's pay him his one-way travel to Saudi Arabia.

What a shame we can't send him back in the Victorian England, or, if women were too liberated then for him, send him back in the Middle Age.

Oh, it's the Spearhead.

Actually, I think giving Saudi women the freedom to leave and live in a country where they're free to work and are (more or less) equal to men is a great idea. Of course, I'm looking at it from the women's point of view and not the men's like walking in hell2 is. If he wants to live in a place where women are totally subservient and are treated like property, then he should move to Saudi Arabia. "The Stepford Wives" was not a documentary.

This is what the world looks from the vantage point of someone who walks in hell. Though I've heard that calming medications are available.

Perhaps the infernal stroller would rather forgo a calmer and more peaceable existence in order to enjoy the fevered dreams of the rabid nincompoop. Probably feels more alive.

Who is going to drive the busses and cars in this city?

Are women in this city going to walk around in public with naked hair?

Saudis Building Women-Only City

That's like something straight out of a porno. All we need is a weary but virile traveler who gets lost in the desert and saved by these women and in return he shows them forbidden pleasures. In fact, I think I saw that exact one. It was alright.

If I were the governing forces in Saudi Arabia, I would export Saudi women who wanted to work to other countries; for example, flush the trouble makers into America or Britain

Honestly I'd like that too (though I disagree with calling them trouble makers). I'd love to see some of the more liberated Muslim women come here and be able to live their life in peace and safety.

I would then replace the unhappy exports with new imports who were happy with Saudi life.

So basically all of Spearhead, Loveshy, Men Going Their Own Way, and Free Republic? Cool! I'll help pack your bags.

a decision which will eventually destroy the Saudi family and bring misery to the entire country. This is a big mistake.

Agreed. As sexually repressed as they are over in the middle east they still have natural urges and being kept away from the opposite sex for all their lives isn't going to make the people happy.

"By being recklessly chivalrous, Saudi men are introducing a cancer to Saudi society."

I would be absolutely stunned if most Saudi men even understood the concept of chivalry, let alone applied it.

"If I were the governing forces in Saudi Arabia, I would export Saudi women who wanted to work to other countries; for example, flush the trouble makers into America or Britain and let them slave away."

You do know that you don't just "export" people from a country, right? The recipient country might want some say in things.

"I would then replace the unhappy exports with new imports who were happy with Saudi life."

And you would find these mythical people where exactly? Everyone who is happy with it is already living there, as few of those as there may be.

"I think the Saudi man’s inexperience with feminism has caused them to make a decision which will eventually destroy the Saudi family and bring misery to the entire country. This is a big mistake."

I hope I live to see the day when feminism actually takes root there and the women stand up for themselves as a united whole and the men are faced with the harsh realities of 21st century life where women aren't treated as property or second class citizens.

I think I would prefer a city where all the knuckle dragging men are sent to. Imagine the highjinks when they get all drunk & horny!

On the plus side-stupid plans like this will never happen in the more civilized countries-so keep jerkin' it to your silly little fantasy there buddy. And I emphasize LITTLE.

Male Saudis are anything but chivalrous.

Have you even ever been to the KSA? Wahhabis view women as nothing more than chattel. The fact they're building a COMPLETELY SEPARATE CITY just so women can actually work outside the home without being harrassed, spit on, and being called whores for daring to leave their homes speaks volumes about how Saudis treat their women.

Since most fundies claim this is what's destroying the American nation I'd have thought this outcome would be ideal.

This is a big mistake.

You summed up your comments perfectly.

The original article is worthy of this itself. It outright says that the women of the city will still need men to do the heavy lifting and the administration which will ultimately turn them into whores somehow.

I like that the Saudis are trying to find a way for women to support themselves which still follows their religious laws and cultural preconceptions. But it feels like a step in the wrong direction, like a novelty to show how the silly women can somehow maintain a society without male involvement, or a ghetto into which they can throw their more unruly women.

Nonetheless, this might have some benefits. It may be an excellent social experiment which feminists and the Muslim world would need to monitor. It may also prove to be a sanctuary of sorts for women who are oppressed by their families or by society as a whole.

Which direction the city follows would depend on the political climate of Saudi Arabia and how the city itself is governed. Perhaps it's just that I've been on this site so long that I have trouble believing that the more positive scenario will actually happen.
