I'm sure this makes sense on some level, or in context or something.

Context would help? You are a far more optimistic soul than I.

What? Television is paid for by advertisers or cable subscribers. I don't get how this is socialism. Maybe if we had a system like in Great Britian where you have to buy a license to watch TV, and if they catch you watching TV without one you get fined. And yes, they actually do have vans driving around picking up signals from people's TV's just for this purpose.

That is almost the exact opposite of the original definition of socialism.

I truly wish the affordable care act was socialism but that is the last thing that it is. Don't get me wrong I am glad it passed and it is a great improvement but it is a massive handout to private insurance companies. If you think that is socialism then you are a moron.

What? Unless you live somewhere like Britain where you have to pay a license fee, I don't know what you're talking about. Television's not a necessity like healthcare is, anyway.

I *think* what this person is talking about is the fact that when you get TV service you buy access to a bunch of channels that you might not want to actually watch, but enough people do that they're included anyway. It's still not socialism though, since it's private companies doing these things and not the government...
