Emotions are sometimes useful. When you're about to get eaten, getting the sudden urge to get the hell out of there is a good thing.

And, you know, emotions aren't important. I mean- survival of the species doesn't rely at all on a mother wanting to keep her child alive, or on the ability to sense danger.

Clothing likely first started appearing with the emergence of H. sapiens, with their larger (1450ccs) brains and symbolic thinking. Contrary to popular belief, clothing more likely appeared because of shame (with bigger brains and symbolic thinking, shame emerged). Hair then disappeared from our bodies, as it was an unessicary cost with clothing around.
emotions are chemical reactions in the brain that alter your thought process, and clothes were once just tools for keeping warm, but then human became shy and ashamed of there bodies and started to hide themselves from others, clothes are tools of a society to make themselves feel good about their lack of personal 'substance'

All emotions are biological traits that help us cope, drive us to couple and care for ours and others.
and you really don't get cloths?, c'mon! The shame came later, after society norms and religious dogma had been established
Emotions are definitely useful. They helped to keep the basic tribal system together, since without emotions and emotional attachments tribes would drift apart. Plus, when we are angry and coursing with adrenaline we can be almost immune to pain, which is always good when you are fighting, say, a wild animal.
The guilt of being naked arose in this way:
Migration to europe, asia, other areas that get winter or are at least a bit chilly - people start wearing skins to keep warm.
Millennia later, in complex civilization: Being naked is shown as a sign of weakness without clothes to hide yourself, so people try not to be naked in public.
Present day: people are embarrassed about nudity since they believe that being nude is wrong and many people are ashamed of their own bodies.
When you care for people around you, the chance that they will survive and thrive increases significantly.
It wasn't guilt, it was cold, stupid. Indigenous people around the Equator seldom wear clothes. Indigenous people living far north or south from the Equator often wear lots of clothes. People living where there's lots of sand often wear covering clothing.
Both these issues are purely logical; how come you have a problem with them?
Fear evolved to prevent animals from doing things that will get them killed, happiness evolved to encourage animals to do things that are good for them.
And modesty taboos arose after people started wearing clothes to protect them against cold and other environmental hazards. It became culturally ingrained.
