This is unlikely. Certain genes are "imprinted" with the parent they came from, and experiments (on animals) have shown that same-sex crosses (e.g., fertilizing an egg with the haploid DNA from another egg) result in serious defects. I can't see the experiment ever being allowed on a human.

But people have sex because they want to have sex, not just to produce offspring, stupid. Most people are heterosexuals and want to have sex with a person of the opposite gender.
I guess it would be easier on women if the gestation of the embryo and fetus could be done in a mechanical womb. But after it's born, when it's a baby, it needs role models of both genders around it, not necessarily as parents though.
I bet there are quite a few "Heathers" who have two daddies right now.

Heck, we can kinda clear an egg cell, but we aren't even close to figuring out how to implant and feed it artificially. At least the anti-men chick has some science with her.

He anticipates the advance of reproductive technology to the point of IVF followed by gestation in mechanical wombs, to deliver children with the involvement of only one sex.
The idea was explored with more detail and more intelligence in some of the works of Lois McMaster Bujold, particularly in "Ethan of Athos". Which book, by the way, points out quite a few flaws in tom47's single-gender Utopia.
Yes there are technical difficulties in even getting there. (I hadn't heard about 'impriniting', I will look it up.) But I am confident that human intelligence will be able to achieve what blind nature already has, particularly with Nature's example handy to examine.
I infer that tom's thinking this change will free him from his perceived subservience to women, "Nyer, Nyer, we can do without you"; utterly failing to recognise that the relative scarcity of 'high quality'* eggs to the superabundance of sperm will reduce his social and economic position even further. Male sexist's hell.
*High quality as defined by whoever wants to obtain them. Whatever their standard, they will be using some standard.
