Satan will attack anyone who he feels is messing up his neighborhood and I believe that often the very ones that realize the evil of any vice have been dealing with, or bearing a cross of, or have their own thorn in the flesh which keeps them humble.....
Satan never gives up his attacks until a person dies. While I know that a person cannot lose his salvation (from GOD's own Word), my feeling is that SATAN (if he can no long have that person) wants to DESTROY their testimony and any value he or she may have to witness to others for CHRIST.

A secular example:
I believe that there was and still is a real Communist threat within the United States. I see the United States moving towards Secualr Humanistic Socialism and social reform, with governmental control of everything and anything it can ----given enough time and persistence.
Now McCarthy started out as a very smart individual with an eye on the mark; however, he began to seek and enjoy the limelight, the status, the public notoriety and I feel he was set up to look stupid and become a laughing stock by those who understood just what it takes to get rid of a hound. You encourage one's vanity. You look for their personal problem areas (McCarthy had a drinking problem). Then when they get high on themselves or lazy or let their guard down-----you feed them false information.............................................. Once the "problem" has been discredited----the real enemy is free to begin their contrivances once again....
