No, actually our government has long been hijacked by the religious right which wants to turn the country into a fascist Christian theocracy. It's been that way for so long that every time there's a Supreme Court decision knocking down a religious display on government property that people go apeshit claiming that atheists are oppressing poor helpless Christians.

Just look at all the idiots in the Republican party running for president this year. Santorum, Bachmann, Perry... in a sane, secular country these people would have been laughed off the stage instead of being serious contenders for the highest office in the land. I shudder to think what kind of religious extremists the Republicans will put up four years from now.

So in your mind murderers, thieves, corrupt politicians who want to violate separation of church and state (see first amendment and Treaty of Tripoli), and rapists aren't evil people, but people who love someone of the same gender, immigrants, and people who have different beliefs than you are?! You need to get some perspective on things. It might help if your head wasn't wedged so firmly up your ass. By the way, separation of church and state, freedom of (or from) religion, immigration, and people's right to love and have sex with any consenting adult that they want are all things that make our country great. The real evil America-hater is you.

Must be the most impenetrable form of Subliminal Advertising then, because I'm buggered if I can see your Founding Fathers promoting what you lot keep claiming about your country being a 'Christian Nation'.

...especially WWII, as - by the above $5 Dollar note from 1952 proves - you certainly didn't rely on the 'trust' of a 'God' then, so why only after 1954 dod you need to put completely irrelevant wording on your currency, that you seemingly didn't need before?
