I have heard almost this exact thing from family members, friends and co-workers ever since that attack on the embassy last week.

And don't compare him to Hitler, it doesn't work. Hitler was interested in killing people who were "racially" Jewish. This person specifies religious choice. Now, that still makes him want to mass murder lots of people, but he is right about it not being simply interchangeable with Hitler

Muslim countries were a bastion of civilization and scientific progress during the European Dark Ages. A shift to more fundamental interpretations of Islam later on changed that.
The lesson, as always, is that fundamentalism is bad and restricts progress.
