Quote# 89715

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…

These are people who pay no income tax.
My job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

Many said what I wanted too, but I can't resist this:

"What if people had to do mandatory work projects to earn their welfare checks?"

I find this so highly ironic. In communistic countries is/was work mandatory and being unemployed punished by law. Not that it helped... just generated a lot of "jobs" that did nothing (hidden unemployment).

@ Anon:

I think you're being trolled.

With His4Life, I cannot tell.

Not sure if trolling or just stupid?

Sharing a message I felt compelled by the Spirit to write. If it doesn't speak to you personally, just skip it and move on.

"Sharing a message I felt compelled by the Spirit to write. If it doesn't speak to you personally, just skip it and move on."

What arrogance. This fundie nut infects a board oriented towards mocking and ridiculing people exactly like her, spams a thread with her trolling bullshit, and then tells all of us to move on? Here's a better idea: take your nonsensical religious insanity elsewhere where fellow lunatics might appreciate it. None of us do, that's for certain.

If you don't enjoy what I write, you're free not to read it. Move on and read another thread.

No. You felt compelled to share bizarre nonsensical free verse on a thread about something else entirely. Don't attempt to absolve yourself of responsibility for your words.

This thread is to dissect the problems with what Romney said, and for discussion derived from that. It is not the place for you to attempt to preach. Take it elsewhere - there are plenty of free hosting services available.

Often Partisan

@ Hisforlife

Private charity is more degrading that government welfare/programs, IMHO. Private charity sets up a power relationship where you are reliant on someone. At least with a government program, you will pay back in if/when you actually find work.

RE The New Deal. Capitalism REQUIRES unemployment to function.

As this is true, welfare is necessary. Also capitalists will pay you the worst wage tehy can get away with, and someone has to do the working class jobs at the bottom. Not everyone can be middle class.

One word: Obamacare. Because I just found out that my mother has colon cancer. Gods forbid ANYTHING should happen that her insurance gets screwed up somehow, she just might have something to fall back on. Fuck you Romney, faith keeps people calm, but it's science and insurance that lets them fight back.

All True Christians(TM) know that Jesus was too busy preaching against abortion and homosexuality 24/7 to say anything about helping those worthless subhuman poor people

11/23/2012 4:49:35 PM

So, Mitt. How did that work out for you?

11/26/2012 5:35:32 AM

47 percent of the American adult population pay no income taxes?
How much income tax do the very richest of the rich pay?
