Quote# 89736

Personally I hate the term "business as usual" because I don't think it truly describes what we are seeing today. As you stated above with the soon to be financial collapse, global immorality, USA defection of Israel, global violence, global chaos, then we all of a sudden have the rise of earthquakes & volcanoes in various places, rise of many old and new plagues globally, and the coming famine . . . this all is not business as usual.

They did eat, drink, got married Luke 17:27, Matt 24:38 We currently have a society that is morbidly obese, that also loves to drink. We have a mixed society of unsaved that either just shack up & live together and those that get married but then get divorced after just a few months or weeks and then hook up with someone else without blinking an eyelid. We also have gay marriages that are embraced and accepted lifestyles.

Earth is filled with violence Genesis 6:13 Yes, we see that violence is really out of control now, spouses killing each other or parents killing their own children, humans eating the flesh of other humans, other governments shooting and killing their citizens without any remorse, etc.

The times we are living in are not business as usual, but its the perfect description of the days of Noah and Lot, which means its very close . . . we just need to look up and rejoice . . . JESUS IS COMING SOON!

What you have just described is how humans have been throughout history. For ever and ever.

If anything, we're remarkably peaceful and refined in comparison with some periods of history.

It says a lot about your religion that death, despair and destruction make you think about Jesus.

Yes life was so much better in the old days. It was fun living under marauding Vikings, and the Black Death was really just like the common cold... nobody actually died from it. The Spanish Inquisition were such good dimplomats and mediators and the early Christian Church was so tolerant and accepting of new ideas and beliefs.

Sorry, these rose-tinted glasses don't really fit me. You can have them back.

Leighton Buzzard

Yeah? Swap with someone from the 14th century, see how much better it was then. They thought he was coming soon then, too.

Actually, this is business as usual. Read your history books again. (The real ones, not the home school revisionist versions)

I hope your "Jesus" hurries up and takes you morons out of here so we can get real work and progress done in this world.

Self-fulfilling prophecy.
Imagine if the economy was doing really well, there was no "global immorality" anywhere, no violence, no chaos, but instead order and tranquillity worldwide.
What planet would that be cause it damn sure wouldn't be earth?
Here's the thing: THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN VIOLENCE, and earthquakes and volcanoes too.
Furthermore, most of these things, with the exception of the purely natural phenomena, have a specific socio-economic cause.
You have a fixed idea that everything reinforces, even evidence to the contrary. These things that are happening are the results of social and economic and religious systems, they're not a sign of Armageddon, except in so far as people like you are consciously trying to fulfil the prophecies in the Bible and seeing everything that happens as confirmation of your fixed idea.

"all of a sudden have the rise of earthquakes & volcanoes in various places, rise of many old and new plagues globally, and the coming famine . . . this all is not business as usual. "

Except for the 1980s, when the Rapture Retards of the time cited these events as proof "JESUS IS COMING SOON!"

Doubting Thomas

You're really reaching and trying to shoehorn modern events into biblical passages in order to make yourself believe that the end is near, aren't you? Funny how all these horrible things you mention making the world so terrible pale in comparison to some of the barbaric horror stories in the bible. At least today we don't have people dashing babies' heads against stones.

Y'know, I was going to make a certain point but 'Atheissimo', 'whatever', 'Leighton Buzzard' & 'LDM' beat me to it!

I wouldn't trade this time period for the world, even if things tend to get crazy.

The only reason today seems worse than yesterday is that you have the technology available to know every shitty thing that ever happens. If there were Internet in the twentieth century or earlier, you wouldn't be saying that.

Lo! the rivers are running backwards! Get rid of the bible babble and I agree. Does this make me crazy?

"JESUS IS COMING SOON!"

It's always "soon". It would appear that "soon" is a somewhat elastic period of time that is somewhere between now and the sun going nova.

We have had two world wars. One of which included the use of nuclear weapons yet we are still here.

It's pretty sad when the only thing you have to look forward to is the end of the world.

"USA defection of Israel, global violence, global chaos, then we all of a sudden have the rise of earthquakes & volcanoes in various places, rise of many old and new plagues globally, and the coming famine . . . this all is not business as usual."

Apart from a recession - as a result of the fiscal/military policies of your God Emperor of Fucking Up, George Dumbya Bush - no earthquakes, volcanoes, or tornadoes/hurricanes ('Tornado Alley'; Midwest/'Bible Belt' states) etc over on this side of the pond. Queen's Diamond Jubilee, a nationwide celebration of Elizabeth II's reign & service. To say nothing of the 2012 London Olympics & Paralympics, despite the cynics, naysayers etc beforehand, and they being conspicuous by their absence afterwards; the only question asked then, and can only be asked: 'Where did it all go right?!'

"look up"

...at the flyover by the RAF's Red Arrows for said Olympics & Paralympics; also the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (a Spitfire, Hurricane & Lancaster) flypast over Buckingham Palace for said Diamond Jubilee too. [/smartarse]

Moral: Stop being so Americentric, Ruptured Retards. Besides, the UK defected from 'Israel' when we handed over Palestine in the late 1940s, so the state of Israel could fucking exist in the first place. 'Funding/military aid', Religious Reich of the US? Bitch, please.

Yeah yeah yeah-same old nonsense.

Don't complain about governments killing citizens; your lot encourages it. Especially if they happen to be gay, or brown, or liberal, or atheist...

"violence is really out of control now"

As opposed to WW2 where violence was very controlled and all ammunition was made out of rubber.
