Personally, I'd like to keep Scientology around for a while. It's great material for comedy.

I didn't know $cientology had a god, apart from money.

ALL HAIL XENU!!!
But serious the "attacks" on Scientology has been done by people of all faiths or lack there of. In fact I knew a couple of Baptists and Catholics that protested Scientology in my area.
9/25/2012 4:39:41 AM
Scientology is tolerant? I guess that's why they hire so many lawyers who threaten to sue for the tiniest imagined slight.
9/25/2012 4:47:04 AM
I'd like to suggest an additional notion and this is that theist are by definition not credible toward a discussion of reality because they have already left the idea more or less totally!
9/25/2012 5:00:33 AM
"...hence the continuous attacks on Scientology that is a far more tolerant religious system..."
....sorry, I couldn't hold it in!
9/25/2012 5:03:42 AM
Scientology is not a religion, even according to Con Man Ron. Cults that decide to call themselves a religion and change the titles of their centers to "missions" and their staff to "ministers" in order to scam the IRS aren't religions, no matter what idiots like Tom Cruise say.
And tolerant? LOL. Tell that to all of the so-called "suppressive persons" who have been framed for crimes they didn't commit, held hostage, and had their lives and familes threatened by the cult.

The Crimson Ghost
How long was this on Wiki before it was deleted or modified?
And everyone knows that scientology is nothing but a sci-fi flavored pyramid scheme. Especially atheists.
9/25/2012 6:56:46 AM
If you define your god as my sexual organs then I sure care if your god is removed!
9/25/2012 7:10:54 AM
Atheist are by definition not credible toward a discussion of God
And fundies are?
I picture LFOlsnes-Lea jumping up and down on a couch whilst reciting this.
9/25/2012 7:17:06 AM
Scientology? Known for tolerance?
Also if atheists can not discuss god as they are removed, does that mean you can't discuss atheism?
9/25/2012 9:20:49 AM
9/25/2012 10:10:54 AM
Look, if you define "god" as a synonym to chair most atheists would be theists on that one. The very definition of god is what makes atheists atheists.

Fundies Make Me Sick
Atheists don't believe in the existence of a god but that doesn't mean they can't discuss the concept or the history of the different gods and goddesses of different religions. Christians don't have a monopoly on discussion of the supernatural.

"I'd like to suggest an additional notion and this is that Atheist are by definition not credible toward a discussion of the Easter Bunny because they have already left the idea more or less totally! Thus, they don't care if the definition of the Easter Bunny looks this or that way."
Same stupid argument.
9/25/2012 1:03:05 PM
Well then, on the same note, I propose that believers are not credible in any discussions of God as they have already accepted God's existence as fact... and on faith, no less.
ALL religions I know of are based on nonsense and are championed by nutjobs, insecure people and/or poor-thinkers.

OP is not one of those who when expressing opinions, confine themselves to facts.
9/26/2012 1:20:18 AM
So you would only debate the existence of god with those who openly believe he exists? That's a great way to dodge the bullet, isn't it?
9/26/2012 2:46:51 AM
Conservapedia is a better forum for you. No shoo along and let the grown-ups finish their discussion.
9/26/2012 3:59:37 AM
Never trust a religion that copyrights it's holy book.
9/26/2012 4:17:15 AM
Scientology is stupid. Worse, it is exploitative. Do not befoul wikipedia with your bigoted, nonsensical opinions.
9/26/2012 12:42:55 PM
Au contraire, mon petite patoot, the more definitions of God you come up with, the harder I laugh.
9/26/2012 12:47:29 PM
Then perhaps you'll accept my findings as an agnostic?
While the possible existence of a transcendant entity has thus far not been proven impossible by my standards - indeed I've seen things with my own eyes that defy my understanding of what is supposed to be scientifically possible - God as he/she/it exists in any religion I've boned up on is bunk. Scientology even more so than most.
Creation myths and biblical stories are cut from whole cloth. Laws supposedly laid down by 'God' are unapologetic attempts at social engineering.
No human being has any real authority on that particular subject, those that claim to tend to be conmen and dictators. Again, Scientologists even more than most. Their central "clergy" micromanages the lives of members and encourages them via coercion and threats to give most of their money to the church.
