'Wikipedia' is derived from 'Wiki Encyclopedia'. A 'Wiki' is a website that allows users to modify the content at will, and comes from the Hawai'ian 'wiki', meaning quick/fast/rapid (since you can rapidly update the page). That in turn comes from Proto-Polynesian 'witi'.

Probably. Racists, bigots and modern American conservatives in general seem to have a problem with intelligence and education. They claim that schools and colleges (especially public ones) are "Marxist/socialist indoctrination camps" for encouraging and training students in critical thinking/analytical skills, which often leads people to challenge authroity, tradition, established religion and established socioeconomic/sociopolitical hierarchy.
The majority of (white) racists in the US lean Republican and the GOP is now the party of anti-intellectualism. The party that considers the President "elitist" for having graduated from an Ivy League college and who has run Presidential candidates who decry higher learning. Like Rick "What A Snob" Santorum.

This reads like one of the pamphlets I used to find on my Aunt Joyce's coffee table when I was a little stinker. Usually half-buried among church flyers, Chick tracts, and copies of The Watchtower. Come to think of it, that picture kind of looks like something from a Chick tract. Reads a little rougher though. Lacks that relative subtlety.
