The First Crusade was fairly successful in terms of objectives, reconquering the holy land and such. Third was far from half assed, even if it wasn't successful.
The Children's Crusade just makes me sick though.
Though getting excommunicated when you're supposed to being the Church's work and then killing Christians only in your Crusade is truly a level of epic failure.

And why would a Christian church preach about the "dangers of dependence"? Jesus told his followers to freely give to the poor, sell everything they own to follow Christ and to share what they own to anyone in need. Jesus was certainly no Neoconservative, so why are you trying to pimp Jesus to push your secular ideology?
