Amazingly, only "The Time Of JESUS" stands alone in dividing our span through the ages. A year must either be BC or AD. This is to say that a 36 year span in between would belong to only one man. Jesus of Nazareth. So, we know as a fact today that After Death is exactly 2006 years ago. That's one hell of a thing to dedicate to one man, wouldn't you say? It would be an insane thing to dedicate to a myth.

Yeah, we wouldn't base something so important as say, the name of the days in the week, on a myth. So that means the Norse gods must be real!

I thought it was proven or generally accepted even by atheists that someone who might have been Jesus existed- and that people could easily have followed his teachings, but not that he's necessarily the son of God.
I just love the flawed logic that the fundies create to say Jesus existed.
1. The bible said it.
2. Everyone believes it, only an idiot wouldn't
3. If Christianity were wrong, it would have already been disproven
4. I just plain feel it in my heart.

From what I've seen, it is generally accepted by atheists (and Jews, Muslims, Buddhists...). It's usually for the same reasons (read: Biblical problems) many intelligent believers give. For example, if the Jesus story were made up whole-cloth, why have him baptized by John the Baptist? That only makes his divinity ambiguous. Why have him really somewhat unlike the predicted messiah?
(Of course, the hijacking and reinterpreting of an either real or made up "Jesus = Good Radical Teacher" story to a new "Jesus = God" view could also explain it.)
From what I've been able to tell, these are the *best*, if not only, evidences that have been put forward for his mere existence as a man.
But yeah, your point stands. The historical Jesus himself--if he exists--isn't a problem for anyone.
you would think that a christian would know that AD stands for Anno Domini loosly transtaled as The year of the Lord. It does not mean After Death because that would need three designations, not two, or just leave years of history out of the books.
Current preference is to use BCE and CE for common era.
AD = anno domini , in the year of our lord (loosly)
I would have thought a christian might know that.
