Funny thing is, you people continue to make the case for why science and evolution need to be taught more than ever.

You, sir, are an embarrassment to the scientific community. Why you and Akin continue to serve on a committee that you believe is in direct opposition to your stone age beliefs confounds me. If there were ever two people whose cognitive thinking and understanding of scientific theory and practice were stunted to the point of rendering them right at the thinking capacity of a clump of dirt, it would be you.
Simply put, you are simply not intelligent enough to continue to be on any group that deals in any way with science.
Perhaps you might aim yourselves in a different direction - I hear there are some road workers in DC who need people to clean out the Port-A-Skanks along the highway. You'd be much better suited for that kind of work. It wouldn't stress your brains so much.

At the risk of having the "correlation does not equal causality" card thrown at me, I find it quite interesting that these two idiots represent red-sate, bible-belt constituencies with high rates of teen pregnancy, illiteracy, and poverty, particularly Missouri. They both need to step down from this committee and Mr. Broun needs to return his medical degree. And, if Mr. Broun has data that proves a young earth, he needs to present it or STFU.

Excellent, mine got through. Must have forgotten to tick the "receive credit for this" submission box, but oh well.
I find it scary that this dude is in the government.

And yet you are conspicuously lacking in Nobel Prizes. I wonder why that is?

How do you achieve a M.D. and a B.S. if you don't adhere to the scientific method?
For a politician in Europe to say that s/he doesn't believe in evolution and the Big Bang, that is political and social suicide. It's like saying that you believe the stories of Brothers Grimm over scientific history.
The Earth IS fairly young, only about 4,5 billion years old.
Has this dolt moved to make any kind of activity, which can be interpreted as work (like picking sticks for the fire), forbidden on Sundays?
Has he tried to outlaw factories that make clothes of mixed fabrics?
Has he stipulated that all cities must have an altar to perform all the required burnt offerings on?

What i've come to learn is that the constitution is the manufactures handbook for america. That handbook says "congress shall make no law regarding establishment of religion". It teaches how to run our country, and how to put a wall of separation between church and state. By shoving your book of mythology down Americas throat, by holding the Bible as being the major directions to me of how you vote in Washington, D.C., you've declared war on traditional American values.
I don't know if you're even an American citizen.

You know, I feel bad enough when ordinary citizens are ultra-religious YEC's who prefer ancient superstition over actual science, but when they're members of our electorate serving on the House Science Committee, it really makes me fear for our future. It's bad enough that there are people like this, but depressing when you realize that there are enough of them to elect one of their own to Congress.

Of course he does. I'm starting to think that Headache was right. Maybe our country IS too retarded to exist anymore. Granted, I don't think it's every single person or even the majority that's stupid but because the normal people don't vote the morons pretty much run everything.

I'm afraid that's not going to help him. Obama's poll numbers have been falling fast and Mitt Romney is now ahead of him. We're fucked.

It teaches us how to run our lives individually, how to run our families, how to run our churches. But it teaches us how to run all of public policy and everything in society.
Really? I thought it taught us that:
- pi = exactly 3
- insects have four legs
- bats are birds
- the Earth is flat
- the Earth is the center of the Universe
I won't even go into the missing chapter on electrical engineering which I use to make a living.

@dionysus:
And the reason Romney's ahead is because the press has decided, after the first presidential debate, to blatantly favor Romney in every piece of coverage they've released. Dear God, they might as well be bowing down and kissing his ass in public!

In 5 of the previous 6 times that there was an incumbent president running against a challenger, the challenger won the first debate. Only about half of those challengers won the election. The sky is not falling. The Obama administration will learn from this first debate. Romney is already being called out on his lies. Personally, I think the rudeness he showed towards the moderator should count against him too.

It also teaches how to cure leprosy by sprinkling your patient with pigeon blood, but I have to assume that you would take the modern scientific approach and simply prescribe your patient some antibiotics instead, wouldn't you, you hypocrite?
"And that’s the reason as your congressman I hold the holy Bible as being the major directions to me of how I vote in Washington, D.C., and I’ll continue to do that."
And, sadly, you'll probably continue to be elected for it because people are fucking morons.
If I had no scruples at all I'd get into the politics game myself. You get the adoration of people, a cushy office, people kissing your ass, lackeys to order around, and all kinds of other perks with no discernible work actually involved in any of it since nothing ever gets done anyway. All you have to do is prattle on about Jesus, claim you'll abolish abortion, "protect the family and marriage" from those evil gays, and quote a few irrelevant verses from the Wholly Babble whenever someone asks you something you don't have an answer to and you're bound to be elected for something or other.

There is no excuse for handing out science degrees to ignoramuses who don't even know the scientific method and dangerously irresponsible to let them anywhere near patients.

@UHM:
"Who for the love of all non-existent gods and goddesses puts these people in their? I don't believe all Republicans belief this BS so who the fuck puts them there? "
The republic party spent 30 years brainwashing the teabagger base to believe anything said on faux news and by Rush Limbaugh types. This base is very motivated to vote, while the normal person is not, so Broun-like idiots fill the US congress.
There is an ongoing operation to remove less extreme conservatives from congress(by calling them communist liberals during elections) so they can be replaced by creationist level mental patients.
The normal conservatives were removed in the 90s and replaced by these less extreme conservatives.
Even normal conservatives are affected by this brainwashing. They may think Broun-like people are idiots, but they have been conditioned, like Pavlovs dog, to to have a strong emotional bad reaction to anything associated with the Democratic party., so they vote Broun anyway.
In recent elections there have been recurring stories about life-long Republic party members getting fed up with their party being taken over by Broun type morons and changing their vote, but according to election results these people are few and far between. Bround type morons keep getting elected(possibly by election fraud).
