Quote# 89982

In 2003, when Bush was president, I took a male cat to be fixed. It cost $40, pain meds were free.

Today, I took a female cat to be fixed. For the exact same procedures, it cost $80, plus $13 for pain meds.

Thank you, Mr President.

And Bush says don't mention but keep blaming the black guy.

Filin De Blanc

You do realize that the policies of one President have an economic impact that lasts beyond their term, don't you? Just because it's costlier in Obama's term doesn't mean that Bush's disastrous mismanagement of the economy isn't one of the reasons it's more expensive now.

10/9/2012 3:54:45 AM

Isn't it always more expensive to have a female cat "seen to"?

The operation is more complicated, I understand.

Table Rock

Yeah, that executive order that Obama issued increasing veterinary costs was a real motherfucker.

Nomen Nescio

ahem. neutering a male cat is NOT the "exact same procedure" as neutering a female one. not even vaguely close.

yeah, i expect getting me a vasectomy would be cheaper than getting a woman a tubal, too. no, the administration would not be at fault.

10/9/2012 4:03:33 AM

Yep, pretty much. Having had cats of both sexes "done".

10/9/2012 4:05:55 AM

So you want price controls? Let the free market do its magic.

10/9/2012 4:08:35 AM

You, sir, are an idiot.

10/9/2012 4:09:59 AM

It's not possible people are this stupid, right? Please tell me there is some hope for the world.

10/9/2012 4:36:00 AM

In Australia the cost varies.
The Yahoo answer quoted here had those same prices as of 2007.
A Government website quotes $100.00 male, $200.00 female. If you're ascribing veterinary prices to your presidents, be sure to sincerely thank Obama.

Oh My Dog!

Erm, we took our male and our female cat to be fixed at the same time.
His operation was easy, quick and not that expensive. He only needed the cone-of-shame for a day.
Her operation was much more invasive, took longer and was more expensive. She needed to wear the cone-of-shame for a week.

Thank you, God/Mother Nature, for puting male genitalia outside, while female genitalia is inside the body.

Mister Spak

5 years of Bush really made a mess of the economy. Fortunately Obama was elected and ended that regime of failure. Thank you, Mr President.

Doubting Thomas

Are you fucking kidding me? There's a huge difference between fixing a male cat and a female cat, mainly because spaying a female is far more invasive.

Not only that, but prices have increased since 2003.

But it's all Obama's fault. You know he signed an executive order raising the cost of fixing cats just to piss off people on Rapture Ready.

10/9/2012 5:07:17 AM

Yeah, sorry, not the "exact" same procedure.

10/9/2012 5:17:32 AM

I'm also wondering why a fundie like yourself is having your cats fixed, so that they can't procreate as god commands.

10/9/2012 5:18:08 AM

Its always been at least twice as much to get a female cat neutered because its a much bigger operation. So you lose, fucko! I feel sorry for your cat(s).

10/9/2012 5:18:20 AM

Leighton Buzzard

Obamacare covers cats?

10/9/2012 5:19:24 AM

All due to that highly controversial cat sterilization bill that Obama has spent his entire Presidency getting passed, no doubt.

Or maybe you just like to bitch about things and blame people that have nothing to do with them in any conceivable way.

10/9/2012 5:21:51 AM

You do know that ObamaCare doesn't cover pets, right?

10/9/2012 5:27:08 AM

If you do not know the difference between male and female anatomy, I can't help you with much else, either.

10/9/2012 5:28:39 AM

It is always more expensive..male neutering is a quick op, female spaying is an invasive procedure...That vets bill is cheap..

10/9/2012 5:31:47 AM

Spaying a female animal costs more than neutering a male animal because spaying is quite a bit more complicated. It usually doesn't quite cost twice as much, though (~$125 vs ~$175 in my area based on experience), so you probably saw a different vet or the one you normally use upped their prices a bit, which has absolutely nothing to do with either Bush or Obama.

...either way, both of those prices are pretty damn cheap. You sure those procedures weren't partially subsidized? WELFARE QUEEN!!!

10/9/2012 5:55:37 AM

And I thought teleprompter-gate was a stupid reason to criticize the president. Your lot is really straining to find a way to justify your hate.

10/9/2012 5:56:55 AM

I'm sure there are several non-profit organizations that would consider funding the procedure to remove your head from your ass.
