I take it back, it seems de Sade was a revolutionary, for a while. I looked up the guy she quotes, and it seems he didn't actually say quite what Susie thinks he did. He was very, very conservative though: he basically wanted the Austrian Empire back.

@ Indicible: I thought that, but when I looked it up it turned out de Sade did sit in the National Assembly, on the extreme left. (He wasn't the only aristo there, either). Rather strangely, given his kink, he disapproved of the Terror and fell out with Robespierre, and was only saved from the guillotine by the latter's fall.

Check again yourself, Indicible. De Sade was a hero of the revolution for a while, and if I recall correctly was even too progressive for the time, refusing to decree death penalties.
Spanish Civil War, susie? Sure you want to mention that? The one time pretty much the whole political spectrum, from republicans to anarchists, was united against the fascist takeover? When, excepting the Stalinists' attempts to undermine everyone else, there was a positive attitude of fraternity and wanting to build a better future? You really want to side with Franco?

He lied. He lied and you were stupid/delusional enough to accept the lies as fact rather than tire yourself out by doing the research that would have informed you otherwise.
I've been Pagan for fifteen years and Liberal for far longer. In that time I have met people across the gamut; people from traditions ranging from Traditional Cornish Witchcraft to Secular Satanism and not one of them ever used feces in their rituals, nor did they worship it. The concept is as revolting to us as it is to you. My uncle was a Satanic Witch many, many years ago and even performed a 'black mass' - never wanted to handle poop.
Methinks you don't care if the Rabbi is making things up, or even have any conscience about your own spread of such ridiculous stories, as long as the right people are being demonized.
People like you are the reason why I loathe most christians and find you completely unworthy of trust.
