Quote# 90052

*The number of atheists has increased dramatically, so I'm happy.*

Yes let's all worship the great non-existence. The non-existence rules all and Christopher Hitchens is it's prophet. *bows and performs his not-prayers for the fifth time today.*

Your post is non-sensical. Your understanding of atheism is non-existent.

Atheists don't have prophets and we don't pray. End of story.

Or not. We atheists have better things to do than waste our lives worshiping any "great non-existance".
A "non-existance" CANNOT rule "all" or indeed any.
How exactly is Mr Hitchens a prophet of this "non-existance" of yours anyway?

Yeah, my religion is atheism and my hobby is not collecting stamps. I ROCK at both. No, I mean it, come to my place, I have NO stamps... which reminds me, I gotta buy stamps before the end of the month...

(emphasis added):

'When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion.'

-Abraham Lincoln

And that's why he - one of the US's greatest presidents - is memorialised in Washington DC. And you're not, FAILinn. Oh, and if you're going to use Chrispoher Hitchens as an analogy, why not go all the way:

PROTIP: In his early years, Charles Darwin was in training to join the Church of England's clergy. Post-discoveries & to his death, he was an agnostic. As you can see above, he is memorialied (one of only five non-royalty people buried there) in the C-of-E's central place of worship, Westminster Abbey.

Enjoy your paradox, FAILinn. And that's before I say 'Use of bad analogy. Your argument is invalid'. >:D

Remember, in fundiespeak, "religion", "worship", "faith" and "messiah" are insults unless you're speaking of your own beliefs.

Much like a perfect sphere, you're missing a point.

@OhJohnNo, the answer is no, they cannot. To do so would cause them to question their extremely narrow view of reality, which they cling to with the fervor of a drowning man clutching a rope.

I can't wait to become Christian! Then I can perform my not-not-going to church on the Sabbath, eat my not-not pork for dinner, and perform my non-prayers to Vishnu and Mohammed.

Fundie theists seem to have this belief that humans need to worship. They can't imagine a total ambiguity toward the divine, so they make up new gods for the non-religious strawman to worship.

HERETIC! One should only do his Not-prayers -4 times a day. The Non-existence is very very indifferent to you.
