Filin, of course I am challenged by the biblical doctrine of hell. It stretches my belief in God to accept that hundreds of people I know and love will suffer for eternity because they did not obey the gospel. But this is the reality we're confronted with in the Bible. We can choose to accept it and respond to God's offer of grace through Jesus Christ, or we can reject it and live with the consequences of that choice. What we cannot do is hide from it, unfortunately.

I was a little crass above, but my point is, from the viewpoint of eternity, does it really matter if I'm black, white, or green? At the end of the day, you still have to deal with the reality of a God who will judge you for your sins, but who has also extended an offer of grace in Christ. How you respond is up to you, and whether or not you like me has nothing to do with it. If you're so concerned about this issue (which is a minor point in the bible and fairly trivial), then maybe you need to make some decisions about eternity.

This is not an important point of doctrine and I'm not bothered if she accepts a different view or chooses to worship in a different church if she doesn't agree with our pastor on certain things. Many Christians believe differently about what awaits in hell and that is fine, in my opinion - as long as you know you're not going there. :-)

As far as the sodomy issue goes, I do believe that the Bible teaches it (in spite of the comments on that CARM thread) and I see strong evidence for in Scripture and in history. But obviously I play that card a bit more than I should here just to get your goat, just as *you* constantly post the same images and almost ver batim the exact some comments on every thread to get my goat. It's kind of ironic that you would think my behavior is unacceptable, but expect everyone to wade through post after post of cartoons, random meanderings into side-issues, political musings, quotes, etc. that openly violate the forum's post length rules through your trick for sneaking around it.
