“Tar sands” ? It is “oil sands”. Anywho, there are gazillion miles of pipelines crisscrossing the United States. why the protest against Keystone? It’s cause The Mullah In Chief in the White House wants to ensure all American money for oil goes to the enemy — Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. The states which behead “infidels”, stone adulteresses, amputate the limbs of thieves, and flog those who espouse a contrary view — these Islamic states Obama and his bots wish to see prosper — not Canada.

Why exactly should we endanger our land so that Canada can create jobs? I guess the fact that Obama has increased offshore drilling, more than Bush, is an inconvenient and uncomfortable fact for the conservative narrative.
Uh, how's that going to work? The Canadian oil companies already sell almost all their surplus oil to the United States. They want a straight shot to the international ports in the Gulf of Mexico so they can sell their product on the world market at international rates rather than selling it to midwest refineries at reduced rates it like they do now. That stupid pipeline will mean more oil and oil products leave the US, not less. It may also put some of those refineries out of business, costing jobs and raising gas prices in the midwest.
why the protest against Keystone?
Because it's very dirty oil which will take far more energy to refine than it will be worth, using numerous hazardous, toxic chemicals in the process. The tar sands oil will significantly increase greenhouse gases.

You mean all the things that fundie Christians wish they could do here.
I remember a picture from a few years ago, with an American president holding hands with a Saudi-in-Chief. It wasn't Mr Obama, that's for sure; the guy in question was pinkish-pale and looked a bit like that guy on the front page of the magazine MAD.
If there are already gazillion miles of pipelines crisscrossing the US, perhaps it has reached its limit?
No, it's tar sands. I know it's really hard for you teabaggers but try to stay informed on the facts.
Why the hysteria from the Teabaggers in Chief about this pipeline?
Keeping us dependent on a shrinking resource makes us more dependent on those who have that resource - Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. The states which behead “infidels”, stone adulteresses, amputate the limbs of thieves, and flog those who espouse a contrary view these Islamic states Romney and his bots wish to see prosper The current Teabagger in Chief wants to curry their favor so they will give him more money for his campaign and for the campaigns of his fellow teabagger politicians.
Bush kissed the king of Saudi Arabia on the mouth and failed to kill Osama bin Laden, unlike Obama, and yet somehow it's still Obama who's the secret Muslim. Not to mention that Bush's (and Romney's, for that matter) political beliefs are far closer to the beliefs espoused by radical Muslims (anti-gay, anti-abortion, etc.) than Obama's are.
It's because he's black, isn't it?
As I've mentioned before, if the U.S. were to dump even a small portion of the money spent on foreign oil each year into developing more efficient green/renewable energy technologies we wouldn't have to worry about this. In fact, we'd be able to license that new technology out to other countries at substantial rates and we'd be the ones taking in billions of foreign dollars each year. But, no, people like you think oil is the only solution there is.
"It’s cause The Mullah In Chief in the White House wants to ensure all American money for oil goes to the enemy Saudi Arabia"
'Mullah In Chief', you say? As opposed to, say...:

...the Pastor in Chief, who ensured absolutely no money for oil - pre -2008 - went to the enemy - pre -2008 - Saudi Arabia.
'An Inconvenient Truth' indeed.
Ahhh... Moonies, thinking they are like... Smart and stuff.
Actually, Obama, a Christian, has spent most of his office trying to work on clean energy supplies to reduce dependence on Saudi Arabia.
I want some Nuclear research and development. And not just for how awesome Nuclear Rockets would be.
Huh?
Keytone is being built by a foreign company that has a reputation for shoddy work, and pipeline ruptures.
The deal also rest on expropriation of land from natives and small farmers, without compensation.
There is also the fact of total deregulation by the Harperites. The tar sands are poisoning the water supply from hundreds of communitys.
There is no "Mullah In Chief" involved.
Meanwhile, in the cause and effect universe inhabited by sane people, domestic drilling and pumping is at an all time high and imports are lower than they've been since Raygun took office. The U.S. is already the world's leading exporter of refined petroleum products and natural gas.
BTW. Do you know who else has filed suit to stop the pipeline? U.S. refineries that will be bypassed. If the U.S. oil companies wanted the pipeline it would already be an accomplished fact.
Sigh. Arguing with a Reichwhiner is as pointless as pissing up a rope.
So Saudi Arabia is our enemy? I guess you have some crazy explanation for this photo then.

And actually the majority of America's oil is internally produced and 34% comes from the bloodthirsty, America-hating Canadians. Only 11% of all of America's oil comes from the entirety of the Middle-East. Wanna know what happens when 11% of our oil supply is disrupted? You already have it's called Hurricane Katrina.

Just because one has done something for decades doesn't mean it's a good idea. One can ride around strapped to the front bumper of a bus and never get hurt, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

Have you stopped driving? No? Then STFU.
Oil and tar are both hydrocarbons. If it's liquid at room temperature, it's usually called "oil". If it's in a solid or semi-solid state and flows only if heated or diluted with solvents, then it's called "tar". The stuff from Canada is like the stuff roads are paved with. They heat it to form a liquid, then it hardens back up when it cools. Those of us who speak English call that "tar", not oil.
Yes, there are lots of oil pipelines across the US. There are fires and leaks constantly. Google up oil pipeline leak, read about some of the incidents, look at the photos, and ask yourself if you want that to be your neighborhood, your water supply, etc.
The oil is bought on the open market, transported to US refineries where the raw oil is turned into dozens of sub-products such as gasoline and diesel, which again are sold on the open market and may end up fueling cars in Turkey, Iceland and Guatemala just as well as Ohio and Florida!
When trying to sound smart about oil, at least have the minimum of understanding of how the international oil and gas market works!

Yeah, The USA are soooo civilized:

Yeah, why worry about a little thing like a pipeline leak that spills millions of gallons of toxic oil on farmland.
Right?
And for the last time, asshole, Obama is as much a Muslim as I am, and I'm an atheist.
Oh, right, you retards think were the same thing.
Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States as "the enemy"? Look it up. The United States and Saudi Arabia have had full diplomatic relations since 1933. They and the Gulf States are hereditary monarchies, not Islamic republics like Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Also, look at the foreign policy history of the United States. Successive governments have always been perfectly happy to tolerate human rights abuses in friendly countries.
And finally, why would Obama, the American president, want to see Islamic countries prosper more than America? Why, exactly?
Actually, the protest is because some people care about the environment. You know, people who aren't convinced the world is going to end and what-not. Oh, never mind. You wouldn't understand.

You're welcome.
...just remember - when the actual oil starts running out - to thank our Atheist In Chief, Nick Clegg, J.S.
I trust Prof. Tony Marmont - and Air Fuel Synthesis - have hyper-patented this new process. They, and thus the UK as a whole, could make trillions as a result of this paradigm-shifting (as much as the result of Sir Tim Berners-Lee's - HTML) invention .
