Quote# 90199

Nowhere in the Holy Bible have I found a word of condemnation for the operation of slavery, Old or New Testament. If slavery was so bad, why didn’t Jesus, Paul or the prophets say something?

This country already lionizes Wehrmacht leaders. They go by the names of Lincoln, Grant, Sherman, Sheridan, Custer, etc. These Marxists not only destroyed the Constitution they were sworn to uphold, but apostatized the word of God. Either these depraved infidels or the Constitution and Scriptures are in error. I’m more persuaded by the word of God.

Slavery is so bad because it deprives humans of their human rights to freedom of, well everything. Would you want to live out your life as the possession of someone?

Lincoln was a Marxist? I thought he was a Republican.

Both can be in error, ya know.

I think there is a difference between the small-scale enslavement that used to go on in the middle east at the time the Bible was written, like enslavement of people captured in war, and the Atlantic slave trade of the early modern period. I think the Atlantic slave trade was wider in scale, more driven by profit, and part and parcel of a commercial system. Slavery in the ancient world was economically different and relatively local.
There is no way that Jesus, Paul, or the prophets could've seen into the future at how this would all pan out, shortsighted and superstitious as they all were, living in pre-capitalist times and with probably not much of a grasp of geography.

How stupid to call people Marxists and Nazis when they all died before Marx was well known in America, and before Nazism was ever thought of. Would any of these men have ever heard of Marx? Very doubtful. Would they have agreed with him if they had heard of him? Of course not.

Often Partisan

Checkmate: "I don't know, that beard looks pretty marxist to me. I bet he's a fifth column communist trying to discredit the South from within."

Okay, I found that really funny. XD you win the internet.

You just highlighted the fact that your bible is morally bankrupt.

Does such a word exist?

You know that Lincoln, Grant, Sherman, etc. were all Republicans, right? Maybe you should change your party affiliation?

Liberators of slaves are Marxists now. Good to know. It would be astonishing how many logical contradictions and downright excuses for absurdities a religious fundamentalist's mind could come up with. Astonishing yes, if it weren't so sad.

Well, in the OT slaves sold themselves for a period of time...............until they paid their debts. Not the kind of thing you were thinking of, eh?. Besides, primitive Christians liberated slaves. So, tell me this, would you accept to be a slave?(not likely, bearing in mind that he says that guys who were born years before communism appeared, are communists)

So, tell me this, would you accept to be a slave?

Unlikely. Somehow, slavery apologists seem always to assume that they would be the slave owners, rather than the slaves. Strange, that…

Filin De Blanc

"You're a bit late to that party. Several Republican figures came out in support of the "rise of Christian values in Africa" in response to a growing trend of state-sponsored public burnings of small children as witches."

Oh Celestia. Is it too late to declare the Republican Party a terrorist organization? (rhetorical question).

Personally, I wouldn't want him as my slave. He's a bit old, probably frail, and not too bright, so not what I go for in a slave. Also, I don't think he's going to look too good in leather.

Hang on...

You mean he means actual slave slaves? As in, he supports actual fucking slavery? What the fuck is wrong with that man? I mean, that is just sick, perverse, messed up on so many levels, and frankly that confederate flag is just plain tacky. Please, for the love of Cthulhu, somebody have that man neutered so that he's can't reproduce. What if sick and wrong is genetic? He could be raising little mini-freaks!

Also the Wehrmacht didn't even exist when those people lived soooo
