Some of those "libs" might be staying, at least for a while. No gun control, I'm sure they wouldn't need long. Within that one-month limit, certainly. They will go Czolgosz on your arse.

Also, I'm not an American, which may skew my perspective a little, but I thought the typical Democrat supporter was waaaaay left of what Obama's instituted.

Actually, interesting question: You lot call Obama a communist (as well as other Dems). You lot also claim he's charged ahead with his "far left radical" agenda, making no concessions to the right or even the centre.* So... Do you think what's happening in the US right now is communism? Or do you concede that he has in fact not said "We won; deal with it."?

*Pffft! Obama going toward the centre would mean he's moving slightly left!

Riiiight. The Dems only had something like 72 days of Obama's whole term with a majority in the house, and even then some of the Dems were in name only, so it wasn't a true majority. Almost EVERY fucking thing Obama or the Dems have tried to do has been blocked and filibustered, deliberately, by the Republicans, to keep him from succeeding and gaining a second term. What little did get through, they forced into such a watered down, compromised state that it almost all amounted to Republican bills. The GOP categorically REFUSES anything but their own dicatorship.

So you should be very happy after the GOP and Romney steal this election through fraud and misinformation, as they did in 2000 and 2004, because Romney vetoed over 800 bills (though happily, over 700 were overridden) that the 3/4 Demoratic representatives tried to put through when he was Governor. There's another fundie dictatorship coming your way, just the way you like it.

If there's serious voter fraud and Romney were to win, then I'll know voting is futile and I, and other Progressives will definitely be making tracks for Canada or whatever.

The USA as a concept is beautiful but the reality has a lot to be desired. A lot of other countries are more "American" than us. I adore "America/Stars & Stripes/Lady Liberty" as a concept & that concept transcends borders & Nations. If the USA abandons it, it will thrive elsewhere. The Dream of our Founders did not perish, it just moved elsewhere. The Earth is what we're fighting for. Losing a battle for a land mass is small potatoes.

Lady Liberty is Progressive and Universal.

Man who needs this whole checks and balances shit. As President I should just be able to do what I want, when I want, and no one should be able to stop me.

The sound you just heard is Thomas Jefferson crying in the afterlife. That is not a President, that is a tyrant. You don't want to be a democratically elected leader of the executive branch, you want to be an absolute monarch and a military dictator. Unfortunetly for you the United States is not some banana republic cobbled together by gureilla-fighters who were better at winning wars than ruling countries. The United States is still the best damn example of a functional democratic-republic and it is because it is built to keep people like you as far away from any sort of real authority as possible.

Gummah appears to have mistaken the office of president of the United States for "dictator".

Executive orders have very strict limits. Congress must approve any large-scale military action, which nuking several million civilians most certainly would be. In addition, the vice president and the cabinet and the military are not slaved to the president's will.

And while a formal declaration of war is not necessary for a retaliatory nuclear strike (there wouldn't be time), any use of nuclear weapons must be authorized by several different people. If a president were to order a nuclear first-strike against a civilian target, none of those other people would approve it and the weapons would not be launched. Instead, said president would rapidly be removed from office due to evidence of mental incapacity.
