Quote# 90469

"Science" considers a chimpanzee to be a 'human like' creature.

I've worked in a science based career for over 30 years. And 'science' has disappointed me for at least half of that period with stupid unsubstantiated claims that they call 'conclusive' evidence.

And then you heart that the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human.

Sorry, 'science' will have to do better, MUCH better, than this to convince me of ANY claim that they have about ANYTHING.

Admitedly, flipping burgers does rely on the laws of gravity and motion, but it's stretching things a bit to call it 'science based'.

"I've worked in a science based career for over 30 years."
As a janitor at MIT? Because real scientists would check their facts before posting such a spectacularly moronic and instantly refutable statement as "the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human".

Filin De Blanc

I'm pretty sure no scientist has ever claimed that the DNA of a fruit fly and a human are 99% the same.

Leighton Buzzard

A lab janitor does not a scientist make.

"I've worked in a science based career for over 30 years. And 'science' has disappointed me...".

Working in the accounts department of a company making products based on science doesn't qualify you to have worked in a science-based career. You post quite clearly suggests you know nothing of this thing called "science".

Edit - Damn, Leighton Buzzard & gravematter beat me to it...

Somehow I sense Ruler4You doesn't have a degree in science, much less any college degree....

Guess where I figured out you were lying through your teeth.

Somehow, science will just have to struggle on without your approval then.

"And then you heart that the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human."

- No, I've never heard anyone who was knowledgeable about science even suggest such a thing. I don't think I've even heard a creationist say that; even they would recognize it as too stupid to imagine.

So, uhm, what exactly is this "science based career" you speak of?

Shoveling bovine fecal samples doesn't really qualify as working in a "Science based career". Granted, the shit you're shoveling now doesn't either.
*Edit* Crap, the nature of this chode's career has already been joked upon by more capable hands than mine.

Mind you, there are some very similar animals out there, but even an Orangutan (I think) is 98%.

I was much more surprised to learn we've got 50% similarity with a carrot though.

No you haven't, or you wouldn't say it like that. Now stop lying and go praying for a brain.

Flipping burgers isn't a "science-based" career.

What sciences does Ruler4You work in? Because if you said that fruit flies share 99% of their DNA with humans in front of a biologist, they'd laugh in your face and then give you a Powerpoint of why you're wrong.

If you want to try and refute something, get your facts straight on it first.

11/4/2012 10:04:18 AM

Mr. Bigglesworth

I don't think you know what science is let alone have a career based on it.

Sorry that science has disappointed you so much Spending 30 years in the same science based career must surely have clued you into a need for a change. Have you considered panhandling? May be a step up for you.

Pule Thamex

Indeed, scientists make bold claims about lots of things, eg. gravity. But don't listen to them, it's all stuff and nonsense, as you'll already know having had a science based career. In fact do what I do, don't waste time going down the stairs step by step, but just jump straight down the stairwell, it's much quicker.

11/4/2012 1:38:50 PM

Old Viking

Actually, I haven't heard that about the fruit fly.

"'Science' considers a chimpanzee to be a 'human like' creature."

Well they're certainly a lot more human-like than a dog, for instance.

"I've worked in a science based career for over 30 years. And 'science' has disappointed me for at least half of that period with stupid unsubstantiated claims that they call 'conclusive' evidence."

So in other words, you're too stupid to understand evidence and because you don't understand, it must therefore be wrong. How arrogant.

"And then you heart[sic] that the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human."

No, we don't. That's you pulling shit out of your ass to use as a pathetic strawman.

"Sorry, 'science' will have to do better, MUCH better, than this to convince me of ANY claim that they have about ANYTHING."

Then get the fuck off the internet, you asshat.

It's interesting how people who deny science - especially evolution - always make baseless claims without evidence, and even lie to make themselves seem more credible.

It's as if they're afraid of reality, or something.
