"Science" considers a chimpanzee to be a 'human like' creature.
I've worked in a science based career for over 30 years. And 'science' has disappointed me for at least half of that period with stupid unsubstantiated claims that they call 'conclusive' evidence.
And then you heart that the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human.
Sorry, 'science' will have to do better, MUCH better, than this to convince me of ANY claim that they have about ANYTHING.

"I've worked in a science based career for over 30 years. And 'science' has disappointed me...".
Working in the accounts department of a company making products based on science doesn't qualify you to have worked in a science-based career. You post quite clearly suggests you know nothing of this thing called "science".
Edit - Damn, Leighton Buzzard & gravematter beat me to it...
"And then you heart that the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human."
- No, I've never heard anyone who was knowledgeable about science even suggest such a thing. I don't think I've even heard a creationist say that; even they would recognize it as too stupid to imagine.
So, uhm, what exactly is this "science based career" you speak of?
Shoveling bovine fecal samples doesn't really qualify as working in a "Science based career". Granted, the shit you're shoveling now doesn't either.
*Edit* Crap, the nature of this chode's career has already been joked upon by more capable hands than mine.
Mind you, there are some very similar animals out there, but even an Orangutan (I think) is 98%.
I was much more surprised to learn we've got 50% similarity with a carrot though.
ubdum

Right, and I'm a butternut squash.
CROOOOCK OFFFF AAAAGESSSS...
What sciences does Ruler4You work in? Because if you said that fruit flies share 99% of their DNA with humans in front of a biologist, they'd laugh in your face and then give you a Powerpoint of why you're wrong.
If you want to try and refute something, get your facts straight on it first.
Indeed, scientists make bold claims about lots of things, eg. gravity. But don't listen to them, it's all stuff and nonsense, as you'll already know having had a science based career. In fact do what I do, don't waste time going down the stairs step by step, but just jump straight down the stairwell, it's much quicker.
"'Science' considers a chimpanzee to be a 'human like' creature."
Well they're certainly a lot more human-like than a dog, for instance.
"I've worked in a science based career for over 30 years. And 'science' has disappointed me for at least half of that period with stupid unsubstantiated claims that they call 'conclusive' evidence."
So in other words, you're too stupid to understand evidence and because you don't understand, it must therefore be wrong. How arrogant.
"And then you heart[sic] that the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human."
No, we don't. That's you pulling shit out of your ass to use as a pathetic strawman.
"Sorry, 'science' will have to do better, MUCH better, than this to convince me of ANY claim that they have about ANYTHING."
Then get the fuck off the internet, you asshat.
It's interesting how people who deny science - especially evolution - always make baseless claims without evidence, and even lie to make themselves seem more credible.
It's as if they're afraid of reality, or something.
"Sorry, 'science' will have to do better, MUCH better, than this to convince me of ANY claim that they have about ANYTHING."
- The computer you used to type your little screed wasn't enough for you?
"And then you heart that the common fruit fly has 99% of the same DNA as a human."
I do soooooo then <3 ("heart")fruitflies!
Actually the DNA overlap is more like 95.7 percent with fruitflies and humans. All bilaterally symmetrical animals have roughly the same coincident basic genes. Humans and chimpanzees, however, share 98.9% or so on DNA. Most of the DNA sequences of animals comprises very basic "recipes", like bilateral symmetry, eyes, nerve tissue, etc. It's that small percentage fragment above the 97 percentile where you get to details that make the species differ from eachother. Fruitflies were the first species to have their entire genome mapped, it took a decade, and now that computers/internet offer so much more processing power, just about all species can be mapped out prettty quickly. Since fruitflies have such a rapid life-cycle, about 5 days, max, from hatching to dying, they make great experimental animals for studying genetics, environmental toxicity mutation, etc.
While the similarity is not 99%, it is quite high. This is further proof, if any is needed, that these creatures evolved from a common ancestor.
Furthermore, there are at about 500 genes that are the SAME (with minor variations) in all life forms from bacteria, archea, plants, animals, fungi, and the lesser known kingdoms. This shows that the division into the kingdoms occurred somewhere over one billion years ago.
Confused?
