Quote# 90498

Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock found himself pushing the envelop of conservative views on abortion to the edge of the table, perhaps more dramatically than even Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin. Mourdock said, “I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.” He pleaded the cause with with a heartfelt burden. Naturally, the liberal media turned it into more of the Republican war–on women. Never mind the child. Damn the unborn. That’s the liberal position. Get rid of that thing, now!

Tough call. Liberals will have their victims (women alive, that can vote), regardless. The question of “legitimate” rape (i.e., was the woman actually raped), or the statistic indicating how many actually raped women actually become pregnant thereby, do not interest liberals at all. They want the unborn, and newly born, slaughtered, as population control, and they want old people eased out as quickly as possible. The party of death, the Democrat Party.

"The party of death, the Democrat Party."

That was no Democrat who ordered bombs dropped on Iraq, killing thousands of women and children.

I don't remember any Democrats talking about how we need to execute poor parents like Clifford Russell or supporting the death penalty for disobedient children like Charles Fuqua.

If there are really any Femitheists, I bet it's because of guys like you. You are an irrefutable argument for retroactive abortion.

Mister Spak

Because god wants those women to be raped. Damn those liberals and their anti-rape programs.

11/5/2012 5:49:09 AM

My, that's a lot of lying.

Actually, the statistic of how many pregnancies result from rape every year damn well does interest us. That number is over 32,000.

The statement about "legitimate rape", taken in context, was clearly meant to question the claims of rape victims, and imply, with a wink wink, nudge nudge, that lots of rape victims really were NOT raped, but are just "nuts and sluts", making the whole thing up to excuse their bad behavior, which is really fucking offensive to nearly everyone who hears it.

And you can't slaughter a blastocyst, nor is anyone, anywhere calling for slaughter of newborns, although there is some call for the slaughter of old people: that would be Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, and the GOP, who are trying to voucherize Medicare and do away with Social Security.

If you consider rape to be the lesser of two evils when comparing it to a licensed abortion, kindly pack up your desk and exit life, because you are fired from breathing.

Yes never mind the child cause that's all that's important, not the woman's life who now has to carry a rape baby that she doesn't want and not to mention that she is now most likely traumatized.

Doubting Thomas

The party which advocates banning all abortions everywhere, even when it is necessary to save the life of the mother (which the baby would die anyway if the mother dies, can't figure out why these idiots don't understand this) is the real party of death. It's one thing to allow people to make their own decisions as to whether or not to carry out a pregnancy, it's another to force women to die because you have stupid, ancient superstitions.

BTW, I submitted Richard Mourdock's comment about a pregnancy from rape being a gift from God to fstdt, but apparently it wasn't fundie enough?

Liberal...blah blah blah...Democrat...blah blah blah.

The Pugs have supported massive crimes against humanity in Iraq while opposing better healthcare at home, including prenatal and newborn care, that could save baybeez.

It's already clear what these people say to the contrary: They support life from conception 'til birth; then babies can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.

But babies born in countries unlawfully attacked don't matter at all - not even before birth, being as pregnant women can be killed bi bombs and firearms too.

If these people would just listen to Democrats … no that wouldn't help either
Well, listen to everybody else who isn't a Democrat: we all don't like abortion, we'd be perfectly happy in a world without abortion, but if you outlaw it (no matter if you make it a murder or not) it would still be done. But then not just by professionals who know what they are doing, but also by people who are going to kill some of those women via infections.

Please give me a list of the God-fearing Republican women who chose (or were forced by their daddies) to give birth to the children of non-White or mentally deficient rapists. Then I might consider your position worth listening to.

They want the unborn, and newly born, slaughtered, as population control,

Liberals want women to have the option of abortion if it's their choice. I don't recall Democrats arguing for forced abortions of anyone. Under the current laws, if you don't want an abortion, no one can legally force you to have one.

At the risk of getting into the touchy subject of population control, we have more than enough humans on the planet to ensure the continuation of the species, and in fact are probably over the current sustainable limit. Reducing the number of unwanted children would likely be a net gain.

And, as UHM mentioned, abortion will happen no matter what; the key difference is the financial stakes and safety involved. If you leave it up to the states to allow or deny it, then the affluent will be able to travel to places where it's legal, but the poor will be stuck getting dangerous back-alley abortions that will drastically increase their mortality numbers. But I guess the heads of the Republican party don't have a problem with that, as they will be barely inconvenienced while the get to have a larger pool of unskilled labor from which to draw.

No one is saying the rape victims can't take their rape-induced pregnancies to term, us liberals are just saying she shouldn't be force to.

P.S. Blastocusts and embryos are not children. That's why we have different words for them.

P.P.S. Nobody is calling for the slaughter of newly born children. That's all in your tiny, twisted brain.

Oh yes, the party of death, that want everyone to be able to afford health care.
Which party is most pro-death penalty and pro-war, anti-gun-control? I would guess the GOP...

If you have sex with someone against their will, it's rape, pure and simple. If you're unsure, ask again, why don't you? In case of doubt, DON'T have sex. Davey, would you really want to be the son of a raped woman, who saw her rapist every time she looked at you? Who didn't want to, but couldn't help hating you, because of what your dad had done to her, how he had traumatized her for life.

Abortion is always the lesser of two evils, not a fun past-time, asshole. What do the Republicans do for the single women who choose to continue the pregnancy? Do they provide cheap health care for the mother and child? Cheap day-care? Make sure she has food on the table and a roof over her and the baby's head? Hardly; then she and the baby are seen as a burden on public resources, she's just a welfare whore that only costs money.

11/5/2012 11:10:27 PM

The funny thing is, does this person really believe that raped women can't be pregnant?. Even more stupid than "it doesn't happen if it's the first time"
