Quote# 90658

The Porn Belts have spoken. We are slaves of smut and socialism. The immoral producers of nothing will continue rule over the moral producers of goods and services. Non-earners will continue domination of the earners; demanding we work harder so they can take more.

What does this mean for me? I quit. I will no longer support filthy lazy liberal bastards. I’ll be taking an early retirement within a year or so. The liberal scum will no longer get any $ from me. Let the scum starve. And when all the producers finally quit (as always happens with socialism), and the grocery shelves are empty, and the scum shows up on my doorstep begging for a handout, or try to steal from my garden or take my game, I’ll blow their stupid communist heads plumb off.

America committed suicide yesterday. Arm yourselves.

Yeah, I'm sure you quitting will bring America to a grinding halt. What was it you produced, again?

"Non-earners will continue domination of the earners; demanding we work harder so they can take more. "

But Romneys loss makes it harder to do that.

What does this mean for me? I quit.

Won't that make you one of those non-earners dominating the earners?

Filin De Blanc

So you're going to stop producing and start taking money in protest at those who don't produce and take money?

Meh, your game sounds pretty weak. I don't think you have to worry about anyone wanting to steal it.

Look at the Moonfront Republicans imagining they're John Galt.

First of all there are more porn subscribers in the red states than anywhere else.

Secondly, your answer to all the lazy people living on government checks is to quit your job and start living on government checks? Yeah, that'll show 'em. I'm betting you'll be bitching the loudest if your check is late.

It is so cute when silly people honestly think Atlas Shrugged could ever happen in real life

I take it, then, you're giving up whichever Internet-connected device you use, since the Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, and Linux all come from liberals.

"The Porn Belts have spoken. We are slaves of smut and socialism. The immoral producers of nothing will continue rule over the moral producers of goods and services."

Those "immoral producers of nothing" generate several billion dollars in revenue each year, which makes it one of the larger industries in the country. Most of your "producers of goods and services" couldn't even hope to compete dollar for dollar with porn. So, ultimately, being the good Republican Capitalist that you are, you must realize that porn is a more valuable commodity than the widgets that your precious mom & pop operations are producing, thus they should be praised highly for their contributions to the nation's economy.

"Non-earners will continue domination of the earners; demanding we work harder so they can take more."

You realize that you've just described capitalism in probably the most succinct way I've ever seen.

Non-earner (i.e., non-producer) CEOs continually dominate the people who actually do produce goods and services of value, constantly demanding that they work harder while the CEO is the one that ends up taking more of the profits than those who produced them.

"What does this mean for me? I quit. I will no longer support filthy lazy liberal bastards."

I doubt seriously that you are to begin with. Most of those "filthy lazy liberal bastards" probably pay more in tips each year than you do in taxes.

"I’ll be taking an early retirement within a year or so."

Then you'll be one of those "non-earners" getting paid for doing nothing and providing no goods or services in return.

I believe this is what Republicans like to refer to as "personal responsibility". You should have been saving and investing for the last 30 - 50 years of employment instead of squandering it on things like food, clothing, shelter, and medical insurance.

Deadly Vomit (née gaijinlaw)

It's funny how these guys with such a fiercely ideological devotion to capitalism and abhorrence of socialism have no understanding of how markets actually function in the real world.

And by the way Jimbo, it's fine to identify with a heroic fictional character. I do the same thing myself. The difference is I don't make the mistake of really believing I'm a billionaire industrialist who fights crime as a vigilante dressed like a bat. You're not John Galt. You're a dumbass.

I will now form a punk band and call my first demo tape "smut and socialism".

"And when all the producers finally quit (as always happens with socialism)"

newsflash: Atlas Shrugged was a wanking fantasy, not a documentary.

I have lived in a Social Democratic state for most of my life. The only times the shelves have been empty is when the US have caused some crisis or other. Producers have kept producing for decade after decade.

Now our right-wing (still to the left of Obama) government is busy applying everything that is bad with the US economy and society, onto our society and economy...

I've read Fountainhead. Roarke is the least interesting character in the book. I assume John Galt would be the same in Atlas Shrugged. Mind you, I loved the stuff about architecture and really gave me a love FOR architecture, but the objectivist message nearly made me put down the book and just stop reading half way through.

By the way, Jimbo, unless you are playing the starving artist card... which fountainhead does alot (And it'd make more sense in this case to emulate Roarke than John Galt), just quitting your job is not a great plan. If you do... find the job you really enjoy! Like Fountainhead talks about. Sometimes things can be awesome within the system!

Actually, the PORN BELT voted for Romney.

Red states tend to have more per-capita porn subscriptions than blue states.

That won't happen. What WILL happen is that others will fill the void left by you and people like you and take over the market niche. You have to be insane to think that nobody will step up and take an open niche. High taxes or not, business is still among the most lucrative of careers and even when it's not people still like being their own boss.
