I still contend that Victoria Jackson is a life support system for a vagania that has out lived its usefulness.
Why did it not die four years ago? The same thing happened now, than then; the majority of the American public decided that it wanted the Christian man rather than the cultist satanist.
Or rather, that they wanted the man who had already started the job of bringing America back from the deep recession he found the country in, rather than the man who wouldn't say what he intended to do with the economy, except than most people are parasites.

Here's a clue, Victoria: Your version of America never existed. Your 1950's-style conservative utopia where all women stayed home to cook & clean for their man/family, there were no gays, there were no abortions, everybody believed in God and went to church on Sunday, nobody ever had premarital sex, nobody ever got pregnant out of wedlock, there were no blacks (visible at least), and everyone voted Republican never existed in the first place, so stop pining for something which is never going to happen. Your version of ultra-conservative theocratical America is just a right-wing pipe dream that is already DOA. I know conservatives love to surround themselves with people who talk about "let's take back America" but you have to contend with the throngs of liberal and moderate voters who like the direction the country is headed.
I sighed when I found out Victoria went all fundiebagger. She Was a talented comedic actress on SNL. But she still has some funny left in her, even though it's broken: she fell for that Duffle Blog army ballot BS, and riled all her followers up about it(laff-sigh-laff-sigh).

Pretty much, yeah. Some fundie leader comes up with an idea, and the pastors regurgitate it. Their flocks eat it up because it confirms their views, and keeps them from having to think too much.

Actually, it's likely they have read it. It's more that they've been told how to interpret it, but not tried to interpret it (or any part of the bible) for themselves.

I don't think she turned more wing-nutty, I think it's her only arena left. It's been pointed out many times and whined about by right-winged pundits that the right has no good comedians. Too much hate built in. So they're left with the likes of Jackson, has-been short term rock stars like Nugent, Hank Williams Jr, Palin, Trump and a parade of last decades ex-politicians.
I once saw a Christian comic who was quite funny, Can't remember his name, real chubby guy. I mention this only because all his peers were crap just like their children shows, musical groups and such, something about the Christian right wing whipes the talent out, lack of individuality maybe.
America, once one of the most loved countries in the world, truly started to socially regress, when that asshole sellout Reagan got in the office. After him, every president has essentially been a corporate puppet, and Obama is not much different. Until and unless corporate sponsorship for political parties is made illegal, things will not change.
