Quote# 90705

[The CEO of Murray Energy, a coal mining corporation, read this prayer to his employees the day after the election.]

Dear Lord:

The American people have made their choice. They have decided that America must change its course, away from the principals of our Founders. And, away from the idea of individual freedom and individual responsibility. Away from capitalism, economic responsibility, and personal acceptance.

We are a Country in favor of redistribution, national weakness and reduced standard of living and lower and lower levels of personal freedom.

My regret, Lord, is that our young people, including those in my own family, never will know what America was like or might have been. They will pay the price in their reduced standard of living and, most especially, reduced freedom.

The takers outvoted the producers. In response to this, I have turned to my Bible and in II Peter, Chapter 1, verses 4-9 it says, “To faith we are to add goodness; to goodness, knowledge; to knowledge, self control; to self control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, kindness; to brotherly kindness, love.”

Lord, please forgive me and anyone with me in Murray Energy Corp. for the decisions that we are now forced to make to preserve the very existence of any of the enterprises that you have helped us build. We ask for your guidance in this drastic time with the drastic decisions that will be made to have any hope of our survival as an American business enterprise.

Amen.

[He then laid off 156 people.]

In any sane country, this would very, very, very illegal. Republicans = scumbags, liars, and psychopaths.

Hopefully, there is a silver lining. Obama's got a second term & there's a few more Dems in the Senate as well as in state governments. Perhaps we can clamor for tougher laws to put monsters like Murray out-of-business, or at least give the workers legal recourse.

Also, some of the biggest labor movements, protests & rebellions have been through miners. Miners tend to be a hearty bunch and if they have no other ways to feed themselves & their families...watch out!

Perhaps we, too, can petition the more Progressive powers-that-be to do something.

That said, coal is on it's way out. Maybe some other company can give these miners new jobs. Perhaps the Natural Gas folks or construction companies could hire these people. Something has to be done!

I always try to look at the bright side, find that silver lining, that light at the end of the tunnel. Behind every tragedy, there's a potential for triumph. Behind every injustice there's an opportunity for justice. One just has to seek it and find it.

How comes this fucker still isn't hanging from a lamppost? [Headache]I thought Murikka was the country that turned the lynch mob into an art form. I know that they usually go after individuals that are less powerful/more colored, but they have to be aware that plutocrat necks stretch just as well as the necks of uppity black people.[/Headache] Or if mere rope is too proletarian for the business aristocrats, good old doctor Guillotin invented a device to cut the nobility down to size.

Seriously, that's the kind of crap that shows that the US needs a serious left wing, including maybe some "humanity will only be free when the last boss will have been hung with the guts of the last priest" hardcore communists to put the fear of the People into vampires like Murray.

"Sorry that I have to let you guys go, but its really your fault for letting Obama win. Now its slightly harder for me to make as much money as I want. Its okay though, god has forgiven me."
