This hits on the one and only thing I like about fundamentalists. They don't lie about the fact that their religion *does* say theirs is the only one. They own up to this and accept it. As opposed to the more moderately religious who try to pretend that message isn't there and isn't responsible for the long history of religious violence in our world. Instead the moderately religious insist the message in their religion was always nice and happy and every bit of violence done in its name was a corrupt misinterpretation of it so stop blaming the religion for it.

If you're a religious person who has enough basic human compassion that you have a big problem with the violent bigoted material in your religion's scriptures, then the honest thing to do is drop your religion, not lie about it to make it sound nicer than it is.

I disagree with the analogy. Multiple religions out there are triumphalist without a doubt – but their teachings are generally somewhat similar. Even the Golden Rule traverses multiple faiths, just to raise an example.
