It's okay to be scared, as threats like these should never be taken lightly. However, I don't think Obama is going to be asassinated. First of all, the FBI and the CIA are likely 10 steps ahead of anyone serious enough to try, and second of all they really don't want to drive half the country into a frenzy.

I do worry that some particularly disturbed wingnuts are going to take to the streets and commit random shootings. It won't change anything politically, but there are going to be a lot of bereaved families left in the wake, for no other reason than these people being extremely hateful, intolerant and told that it's okay, even commendable, to behave in this manner. This election is the greatest success of the Great Experiment. This Congress will be the most diverse collection of legislators ever assembled. We will have our first Hindu and our first Buddhist representatives, along with our first openly non-religious, non-theistic representative. We have more women in Congress than ever before. We have more LGBT's in Congress including the first bisexual Representatives. We have a woman who is an Iraq War veteran and a double amputee.
This is how democracy should work. Only the most fascistic, militant, bat-shit insane psychopath could look at these results and respond with a desire for lethal violence.
