Maybe Obama wouldn't have won if you'd run a decent candidate against him. You have only yourselves to blame.

And the fact that Serrano has introduced this resolution every two years since 1997 (including times when Bush was president) means what to you exactly?

That dark reign when your economy improved out of the deepest ever depression to the point where you won a world war, your standard of living was the highest ever seen on Earth, and you were the greatest military and economic power on the planet? That dark reign?

If FDR hadn't been there, you might like the policy choices better, but you're too stupid to learn either German or Russian.

Communism died, but its ghost still scares Americans to death.
Looks like, at least to these people, Stalin won.

There have been a lot of crazy people throughout Congress, if we made a big deal of every single one of them, spinning and spinning worst case scenarios, liberals and progressives would say Iran was more free than the US. Like Conservative fearmongerers do.

You do know that Constitutional amendments have a lengthy and detailed process to go through, don't you? You know, having to be passed by 2/3rds of the House and Senate, and then being ratified by 3/4ths of the states? It's not like a simple majority in one side of Congress can change the Constitution.
But what am I saying? These are the same people who think that the president can just declare martial law for no reason, suspend the Constitution, and make himself dictator for life. It's no use trying to explain how the government works to them.

Huh, I must have missed that in my history lessons in school.

Kuno: FDR, a paraplegic who was freely elected four times and served under the most stressful conditions since the Civil War, died at the beginning of his fourth term. In Mr. Subacute's mind, this makes him President for Life.

@Kuno:
FDR was president for life?
Technically, he was. Once elected, he was president until he died.

You do know that all sorts of amendments get proposed, and very few of them ever get anywhere, right? Heck, even just passing an amendment through Congress is difficult, let alone getting the states to ratify it. As of this writing, there have been six proposed amendments that have passed, but failed to be ratified, including the Titles of Nobility amendment and the Equal Rights Amendment. That should give you an idea of how difficult it is to amend the Constitution.

Yes... The president who got us out of THIS-
-Whilst crushing NAZI GERMANY and THE EMPIRE OF JAPAN during the GREATEST WAR THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN, on top of building what are probably the most successful economic and social policies in American history, on top of leading America into the single most prosperous, most powerful era of any country, of all time; this president is considered to have had a "Dark Reign." Riiiiiiiight.

In a job that is unique in that it gives you both responsibility and credit for everything positive or negative during your term, Franklin Delano Roosevelt gets to take more credit for kicking major ass than any other President.

I'd dispute that Teddy Rooseveld is a major contender for that title, but it's still in the family.

"dark reign of Franklin Delano Roosevelt"
You truly are delusional aren't you Blount?
Roosevelt restored confidence in America after the Great Depression, WPA, Lend-Lease Act, NIRA, FDIC, The Social-Security Act (which despite idiotic right wing lies is one of the most successful programs in our history), the SEC, Glass-Steagall (which Clinton deserves a hell of a lot of criticism for repealing along with the Republicans), and I could go on.
Dark reign are the last words I would use to describe FDR's Presidency. He did some great things that people who actually enjoy living in a somewhat modern and advancing society appreciate very much.

It's like these people have some kind of sadomasochistic fetish for oppression and/or misery. It doesn't matter who's in grief - someone MUST suffer in some way, and anyone who actively tries to prevent their country from becoming a worse place is the enemy. They can't be happy unless everything reverts to the Dark Ages, or worse.
Or maybe they just have so much (subconscious?) hate for themselves, or others, or society, or the universe in general, or they have such a huge amlunt of existential terror, that they just want to destroy civilised society and either kill everyone or live as cave people.
I could be making all this up, but it's definitely how it comes off to me...
