We’re talking about a sin movement here. Would we be ticking off any other collective group of public representatives who had another sin problem: ‘Say Janet boy did you hear the first alcoholic just got elected in Colorado’? It’s preposterous, the whole movement is preposterous, and we got to retain our thinking as Christians. This is not an achievement. Homosexuality is a problem and the good news is people can overcome it. I hope and pray that one day Tammy Baldwin leaves the lesbian lifestyle as so many women have. The big achievement decades ago was to acknowledge homosexuality as some kind of minority, it’s not really a minority, it’s about behavior and behavior that can be changed. I’m sorry to offend the homosexual lobby but that’s what it is to us. This is not a great achievement and it’s nothing to be proud of.

"Say Janet boy did you hear the first alcoholic just got elected in Colorado’?"
Um, didn't the God-Emperor Dubya have a drink problem? Where were you complaining about that?
Bisexuals can stop entering into relationships with people of the same gender. Homosexuals can stop getting into relationships too, I guess, but they won't stop being attracted to people of the same gender. You can't really help who you are attracted to, can you?
The homophobia movement is preposterous. We don't really care what homosexuality is to you, as you do not dictate reality.
Last time I checked, most people called Janet are girls/women, not boys.
Even if it was a lifestyle, why would it be bad? They are consenting adults, they can do what they want. You don't want to reinstate prohibition or outlaw tabacco, and those actually do harm people.
@UHM
That's because nobody says, "Please pass a law forbidding XX behavior, because I can't stop doing it otherwise." They just say, "Please pass a law forbidding XX behavior because I don't like the fact that my neighbor does it."
you just go on being offensive Petey, just proves that you're an arsehole!
And just when did you decide to be straight?
"This is not a great achievement and it’s nothing to be proud of."
You're your own worst critic, and rightly so!
"This is not a great achievement and it’s nothing to be proud of."
Tell me, Peter LaBarbera, have you ever been elected as a representative, anywhere? No? What an asshole.
Whether homosexuality is a choice or they are born that way (hint: the latter is usually the case) is irrelevant, because there is nothing inherently immoral or wrong about it. Besides, if homosexuality is evil, why would a supposedly perfect God make people that way, and why would he make heterosexual males so that they enjoy watching lesbians getting it on?
According to your dogma ALL people are sinners, including Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, George Bush and every other "values politician" your lot swoons over. And if you intend to respond with "Yes, but they know they're sinners," please tell me how that admission has made them more effective and empathic people. Be specific, as their public personas and actions in office sure didn't give any indication.
Alcoholism
An addiction to alcohol that directly inhibits a person's health and harms the relationships with those around him/her.
Homosexuality
A sexual orientation that causes no direct harm to the person, nor does it harm the relationships with those around the person.
"The big achievement decades ago was to acknowledge homosexuality as some kind of minority, it’s not really a minority,
So it's a majority? Huh, and here I thought they made up only 1-3% of the population.
Not only is it none of my business who other people go to bed with, I really can think of few things in life that interest me less.
I don't care what my neighbour eats for dinner, or what brand of toothpaste he/she uses. His/her sexual preferences are on the same bottom end of the scale insofar as they are of interest to me. The same applies to you, you snivelling fundie peabrain.
We have already had at least three alcoholics as President of the United States, the last one within clear memory of anyone over twelve, and it showed. Homosexuality, however, does not impede clear thinking more than any other kind of sexuality.
There's an even bigger sin movement all across the country that has gone largely unnoticed by Christians. It's called Long John Silver's, Red Lobster, and Joe's Crab Shack. Oh why won't the Christians start lamenting and protesting this abomination unto the Lord?
@Doubting Thomas: Here's another sin movement: Walmart, Target, and other department stores, selling their mixed-fabric clothing. "Please, someone, think of the children!!!"
Homosexuality is a problem and the good news is people can overcome it.
No, it's not and no, they can't.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
