Quote# 90937

We’re talking about a sin movement here. Would we be ticking off any other collective group of public representatives who had another sin problem: ‘Say Janet boy did you hear the first alcoholic just got elected in Colorado’? It’s preposterous, the whole movement is preposterous, and we got to retain our thinking as Christians. This is not an achievement. Homosexuality is a problem and the good news is people can overcome it. I hope and pray that one day Tammy Baldwin leaves the lesbian lifestyle as so many women have. The big achievement decades ago was to acknowledge homosexuality as some kind of minority, it’s not really a minority, it’s about behavior and behavior that can be changed. I’m sorry to offend the homosexual lobby but that’s what it is to us. This is not a great achievement and it’s nothing to be proud of.

Rabbit of Caerbannog

That's right, keep throwing a tantrum over the fact that most Americans have no problem with gays or lesbians getting married or being elected to public office.

"‘Say Janet boy did you hear the first alcoholic just got elected in Colorado’?"

Um, didn't the God-Emperor Dubya have a drink problem? Where were you complaining about that?

11/24/2012 10:11:03 AM

And yet, Peter LaBarbera - at night alone in front of your computer, you will jerk off to lesbian porn and see nothing wrong with it!

11/24/2012 10:14:52 AM

Bisexuals can stop entering into relationships with people of the same gender. Homosexuals can stop getting into relationships too, I guess, but they won't stop being attracted to people of the same gender. You can't really help who you are attracted to, can you?

The homophobia movement is preposterous. We don't really care what homosexuality is to you, as you do not dictate reality.

Last time I checked, most people called Janet are girls/women, not boys.

Christians and the Right in general need to deal with their fornication and adultery problems before telling others how to live.

11/24/2012 10:36:30 AM

Being a bigot isn't an achievement, either, fuckwad.

11/24/2012 10:40:09 AM

Even if it was a lifestyle, why would it be bad? They are consenting adults, they can do what they want. You don't want to reinstate prohibition or outlaw tabacco, and those actually do harm people.

That's because nobody says, "Please pass a law forbidding XX behavior, because I can't stop doing it otherwise." They just say, "Please pass a law forbidding XX behavior because I don't like the fact that my neighbor does it."

11/24/2012 12:03:15 PM

@Churchy LaFemme: I agree, I'm pointing out the choosiness of what disturbes them.

11/24/2012 12:08:06 PM

Where are all these recovered lesbians?

11/24/2012 12:41:21 PM

Can't do that for Fundies as there are already quite a few brain-damaged, a&&holy, f*ckwads elected for anyone to claim to be the first.

Mihangel apYrs

you just go on being offensive Petey, just proves that you're an arsehole!

And just when did you decide to be straight?

11/24/2012 1:13:18 PM

I’m sorry to offend the homosexual lobby

No you're not, not in the least. That's a lie.

Lying is a sin.

Have fun in Hell.

Oops, sorry, Pete, apparently you didn't get the memo.

"This is not a great achievement and it’s nothing to be proud of."

You're your own worst critic, and rightly so!

11/24/2012 5:22:59 PM

Ignoring the bigotry of the rest of the quote... "Janet boy"?

11/24/2012 5:32:49 PM

"This is not a great achievement and it’s nothing to be proud of."

Tell me, Peter LaBarbera, have you ever been elected as a representative, anywhere? No? What an asshole.

11/24/2012 6:18:37 PM

Whether homosexuality is a choice or they are born that way (hint: the latter is usually the case) is irrelevant, because there is nothing inherently immoral or wrong about it. Besides, if homosexuality is evil, why would a supposedly perfect God make people that way, and why would he make heterosexual males so that they enjoy watching lesbians getting it on?

11/24/2012 6:32:29 PM

According to your dogma ALL people are sinners, including Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, George Bush and every other "values politician" your lot swoons over. And if you intend to respond with "Yes, but they know they're sinners," please tell me how that admission has made them more effective and empathic people. Be specific, as their public personas and actions in office sure didn't give any indication.

11/24/2012 6:35:38 PM

An addiction to alcohol that directly inhibits a person's health and harms the relationships with those around him/her.

A sexual orientation that causes no direct harm to the person, nor does it harm the relationships with those around the person.

"The big achievement decades ago was to acknowledge homosexuality as some kind of minority, it’s not really a minority,

So it's a majority? Huh, and here I thought they made up only 1-3% of the population.

11/24/2012 8:10:49 PM

What I, or anyone else gets up to in bed is none of your business. The fact that you would pray for someone to deny their sexuality merely demonstrates that idiocy is a 'lifestyle choice' you don't seem too keen to turn your back on.

11/25/2012 12:37:02 AM

Not only is it none of my business who other people go to bed with, I really can think of few things in life that interest me less.

I don't care what my neighbour eats for dinner, or what brand of toothpaste he/she uses. His/her sexual preferences are on the same bottom end of the scale insofar as they are of interest to me. The same applies to you, you snivelling fundie peabrain.

11/25/2012 1:26:42 AM

Do you think than an alcoholic never got elected? Or a closeted homosexual?
What this really seems to be calling for is homosexuals pretending that they're not attracted to the same sex.

11/25/2012 5:05:21 AM

We have already had at least three alcoholics as President of the United States, the last one within clear memory of anyone over twelve, and it showed. Homosexuality, however, does not impede clear thinking more than any other kind of sexuality.
