Yes, because someone can only care and want to help their community if there is a judgmental finger of god hanging above them.

Oh, so they don't live here too?

People that disagree with you have the right to vote too, like it or not.

11/29/2012 5:26:37 AM

Equal representation, jerknuts. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be proud your ancestors fought a war over it.

Think the rest of us are happy a motley crew of bible-thumpers ranging from the preachy but well intentioned all the way to clinically insane zealots are calling so many of the shots?

11/29/2012 5:46:25 AM

Well I don't want any whacked-out religious nut cases voting either, but there's not much I can do about it.

11/29/2012 5:46:45 AM

Only the majority are allowed to vote? Or only people you agree with?

How do you know that no atheist care about how your country will survive? Have you interviewed every single one of them?

Doubting Thomas

We care enough to not vote for Republicans. And too bad for you, the First Amendment says that you can't keep people away from the polls based on religious beliefs.

And how were you planning on stopping them, Bev?

Republicans don't represent the majority either.

Are you freaking kidding me? Fundies want a world wide war, total destruction of everything, then they'll be whooshed up into space. They dont represent the majority or the minority groups that actually care about how this country will survive.

Speaking as someone who viewed your recent election from afar, the rest of the world heaved a huge sigh of relief that your country will survive, rather than become an international joke because people like you lost.

As an agnostic that tries to spread love and tolerance, I find Beverly's post disturbing.

But not all that uncommon, unfortunately.

I think most atheists care more then you do, as you people think Jebus is going to come back and clean up all your mess so you don't have to.

I'm going to purposely invoke Godwin's law in a strange way here:

Everyone can vote whether they agree with you or not. Even Nazis.

Yeah, because atheists and agnostics are all incorporeal beings that don't have to deal with the consequences of political decisions. Atheists and agnostics are immune to unemployment, hunger, and war. Or you're a moron and you just want to deny people that disagree with you the right to vote. But if you do that then the right to vote is as worthless as a vote in North Korea. They too like to deny (on pain of "mysterious disappearance") those that disagree the right to vote.

"I dont want any aitheists or agnostics voting since they dont represent the majority or the minority groups that actually care about how this country will survive."

It doesn't work that way. You get to vote even if the only thing you represent and care about is yourself.

Is this real?

That said-try & stop me!

And learn how to spell atheist while you're at it.

Yeah, well Reality doesn't bend to your will, I think you'll find Bev.

Don't like the way democracy works here in the West, fuck off to Saudi Arabia or Iran. I'm suuuuuure you'll get along just fine with the majority of Muslims in those countries. >:D

PROTIP: Just 5% of the population of Sweden are regular churchgoers. Less so in Denmark. According to polls & surveys conducted by the EU, the Czech Republic is the least religious country in Europe. For such a country - a post-Soviet Bloc collapse one, that instantly embraced Capitalism, membership of the EU, and NATO. Also Democracy - they're doing just fine.

Your call.

I dont want any aitheists or agnostics voting since they dont represent the majority [...]

Well, according to your last presidential election not so long ago, Republicans don't represent the majority, either.*

So, according to you, they are not longer allowed to vote.

*(And one could argue that their politics aren't really good for the "survival" of the USA.)

Actually, I care quite a lot about how my country will survive, unlike certain religious whack-jobs who believe their god will poof them up into heaven when everything's being destroyed. I also don't like the fact that people who would like to see the first amendment violated vote, but there's little I can do about it.

This is why we should make our children pass the same citizenship test administered to immigrants. Those that fail are too stupid to vote, They can go back to watching Fox News and Entertainment Tonight and let the grown-ups worry about the real problems.

We might even lose a few colorful Congressmen, but well worth it.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I'm an anti-religious, agnostic, non-theist, and I took up the responsibility of voting this November to put the right people in office and pass the right measures. Suck it!

Please do not presume to tell me what I care about. I care about how this country will survive. I hope it will survive the trampling the religious right are inflicting on it.

I believe that there will be citizens (irreligious or otherwise) who care about their country. (I know nothing of the context.) You've got to be freaking kidding me if you deny any citizen of legal majority the right to vote. Just so you know – I'm agnostic, but that doesn't affect me a bit when it comes to the ballot box.
