Quote# 91027

For the last couple months I've been going back and forth doing my best to witness to mormons on various sites. Feel like I have gotten NO WHERE! Is it just me? I wonder if Jesus felt this way when dealing with the Pharisees. They have this certain arrogance where they have all the answers and would rather follow blindly then to listen to any common sence.

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" Luke 6:41.

"For the last couple months I've been going back and forth doing my best to witness to mormons on various sites. Feel like I have gotten NO WHERE!"

That's because they think as backwards as you do.

Go to a muslim site and get them to witness to you. Will you realise Islam is the real religion?

This is how effective you will be with Mormons.

"For the last couple months I've been going back and forth doing my best to witness to mormons on various sites. Feel like I have gotten NO WHERE!"

Translation: I just don't understand why they wont acknowledge that their fairy tale (which is loosely based on the one that I believe in) is completely wrong.

"Is it just me?"

Probably not, but not having met you in real life it is hard to tell, I could be very wrong about this.

"I wonder if Jesus felt this way when dealing with the Pharisees."

Are you saying that Jesus might have believed that he was wasting his time in preaching the gospel? You better go have a talk with your pastor, your faith seems to be slipping.

"They have this certain arrogance where they have all the answers and would rather follow blindly then to listen to any common sence."

My gosh, that is one shiny mirror ya got there.

Also, I like how now that Romney's lost Mormons are back to being the Hated Enemy.

I thought Mormons were True Christians now, since one ran against Obama. Was the True Christian-hood only offered under the condition that said Mormon won?

Oh, come on now. You could have posted some links instead of just teasing us like this.

"Is it just me?"

No. Of course not.

It happens to every cultist who tries to convert someone from another cult to theirs.

In my experience, your right, many Mormons have an annoying arrogance about them. On the other hand, Fundie zealots have a smug arrogance about themselves too. I can only imagine the fun of watching Mormon arrogance and Fundie arrogance colliding in a theological debate. Woohoo!

But I bet you'd be totally open to accepting Mormonism if they came to Rapture Ready and tried to convert you, wouldn't you?

Maybe, just maybe, if you would keep from pointing out how "wrong" the other chap's religion is, and how if he doesn't change he's gonna BURN FOR ALL TIME, and instead focus on a few good things your particular religion has you might have more success.

Unless, of course, your particular religion has little or nothing to recommend it aside from devotees with loud voices, little education, and self-righteous attitudes...

I wonder if Jesus felt this way when dealing with the Pharisees.

I wonder if Baptists felt this way when dealing with Presbyterians.

I wonder if Presbyterians felt this way when dealing with Roman Catholics.

I wonder if Roman Catholics felt this way when dealing with Muslims.

I wonder if Muslims felt this way when dealing with Hindus.

I wonder if Hindus felt this way when dealing with Buddhists.

They must all have said "Damn! Can't they see I'm right and they're wrong? How can they be so dumb as to fail to recognize how smart I am and how stupid they are?"

Does anyone argue about what the Washington Monument or Gweneth Paltrow look like? Does anyone argue about whether Paris is east or west of Berlin or the Crimean War came before WW2? Here's a clue: you're all just making stuff up out of thin air. Otherwise, wouldn't it be obvious who's right?
