Yeah, sure. Don't forget that the Obama administration and the Muslim Brotherhood paid them for it.

an overbearing government could consider the activities insurrection and declare martial law
Or, more likely, the government will just dismiss all those petitions as utter nonsense from a bunch of Republicans butthurt over the last elections and go about its day.

Meh. The petitions have no power in any case; all they demand is that someone in the Executive Branch look at it. And since all 50 states now have active secessionist petitions, you can see how stupid the whole thing really is.

It is even possible dat tha current round of secessionist petitions was begun, not by secessionistz yo, but by em whoz ass wanna increase tha Federal posse’s power. For, if em whoz ass is most concerned bout tha current direction of tha posse can be drawn away from constructizzle purposes tha fuck into unproductizzle activities, then em whom they is opposin do up in fact have mo' freedom ta advizzle they agendas. In a worst case scenario, should such a secessionist movement git up of hand from they perspective, a overbearin posse could consider tha activitizzles insurrection n' declare martial law, some shiznit nuff have been suggestin be a district possibilitizzle.

Wouldn't legislation be much easier?

Or, what if the entire Republican party, and all its membership, is a giant plot by Liberals to discredit American conservatism and get Democrats elected? The Republican politicians are paid by shadowy elite figures to say as many stupid, unforgivable, borderline certifiable things as possible, and to give the impression that they want to impose a Christian theocracy or transfer all wealth to a few multi-billionaires, thus discrediting American conservatism and increasing support for the Democratic party.

i love how these people turn obama and the democrats into complete and utter "Card Carrying villains"

Although, incidentally, a lot of secessionist petitions will get supported by liberals (or, I suppose, actual left wingers) who think that Obama isn't far left enough. I just blew your mind, didn't I Lloyd?

I love how in conspiracy theory world everything is the exact opposite of how it seems on the surface. Everyone who does something they don't like is an 'agent provocateur'. You would think with that level of paranoia they would wonder if the were themselves agent provocateur's. Like Cylons or something.

Considering nobody in their right mind in the federal government is taking those petitions seriously... no I don't think it's possible.
12/6/2012 2:23:31 PM
This is the same level of delusion as the Teabaggers who will claim to their dying breath that the racist signs were brought by liberal provocateurs.

Nope! There are enough insane freaks that we "leftists" don't need to create sockpuppets and strawmen in order to demonstrate the need for vigilance. I will grant one point though. Looking at the petitions it's obvious that most of them were written by the same, semi-literate, person who did, in fact, use a bunch of sockpuppets to post them. And that, my friends, is one of the oldest tricks in the Reich-wing playbook.
BTW. Anyone who simply can't stand the idea of a black guy in the White House is free to leave for any country that will have them. You are not free, however, to take your sane neighbors with you.
