To be fair, the Nobel Peace prize has gone to some strange people over the years. It's kind of turning itself into a joke. That said, Obama has only helped the economy (if you're looking for the person that made us decline, he looks like this:
).
Carter was actually not as bad as people seem to think he was and he's been making himself plenty useful after his presidency. Mandela was not a thug and given that he ended the apartheid he deserves recognition. And Al Gore is not anti-human, although he is a hypocrite.

* Nelson Mandela - Anti-apartheid activist extraordinaire & South Africa's first black, Indigenous, REAL African President.

* Bishop Desmond Tutu - Another anti-apartheid activist extraordinaire, Man of God, Episcopal Bishop and, like Jimmy Carter, what a Christian should be.

* Mikhail Gorbachev - Soviet President, modernizer, Mr. Glastnost, one of the factors in the FALL of Soviet Communism (you should be kissing his feet, Mr. Blount...plus, he was pals with you beloved 'St. Gipper The Raygun of Washington').

* UN Peace-keepers - Okay, so they sat there picking their noses while Bosnian Muslims were getting raped & murdered left & right...shouldn't THAT bit of ineptitude get your seal of approval, seeing that you hate Muslims?

@Leighton Buzzard: It's the little difference between "administrative center" and "capital". A capital is an official thing, Brussels is nothing official other that "yeah we have branches there". For example, the UN has the General Essembly, Security Council, Secretariat and Economic and Social Council (4 out of 5, 1 inactive) in New York City - we're still not calling New York City the capital of the world...

If you can explain it to the French and make the Americans not shit their pants, yeah Strassbourg is a nice place - but don't think our parliaments are any more effective than the average.
