Quote# 91202

One of the perks of living in the part of San Diego that I do is dealing DAILY with elitist idiot liberals who think the sun shines out of Barry's ass and he shits rainbows and unicorns. By perks I mean severe annoyance.

So why am I annoyed? Let me share a story.

Couple walks into my store today. Husband and wife. Nice enough, they come in regularly. They ask me if we carry boxed Christmas cards and I tell them we don't and suggest a few good places they can go. One of the places is very high end and the wife (sporting her 3 carat diamond ring) bitches about how expensive they are****snort***. I make a side comment on how expensive EVERYTHING is these days and the husband latches on.

He says,"I know it's ridiculous the prices these days. Everything is going up!"

I say....and I really shouldn't because my work is NOT a place for politics, but I say..."Wait till Obamacare kicks in".

Wifey, who till that point was kinda just standing there perks up and says,"Oh we support Obamacare, it's what's right for this country!!!!!!". Man the bitch had some real conviction on that point. Now....I could have just shrugged and let it go. I mean these rich fuckers who probably have several off shore accounts are my clients, but me being me....

I say,"Really? You do know that it's a TAX and you do know who will most be effected by it right?" She of course kinda just nods and looks disgruntled...her husband says,"It's not a tax, it's a social program."

Let me stop you right there dear readers...no I did not kick his balls down his throat as I would have liked...I EDUCATED their asses.

"Yes," I said, "And who pays for the "social program", that is actually NOT a social program, but rather a TAX as outlined by the Supreme Court? I know as a person who runs a small company I have already cut all but one of my employees down to under 20 hours a week. As have most retail establishments. Most small businesses on the cusp, those with slightly over 50 employees will be laying off people AND cutting hours. Those people will not be able to afford rent, food or other necessities. All because of the TAX known as Obamacare. But it's all good, not much we can do about it now that people decided to vote back into office the biggest spender in American history."

Know what they said to me....****crickets****.....The husband says...."I didn't know."

He didn't know. He DID NOT KNOW. Oh fuck him, his wife and FUCK EVERY SINGLE FUCKING WORTHLESS COCK SUCKING PIECE OF SHIT that voted for this abomination we have in office. You reap what you FUCKING SOW. Didn't know. I can't help those who can't help themselves.

You'll be laying all your employees off if you treat your customers like that.

If someone came to me and talked in such an articulate manner, I'd be stunned too.
And probably even more confused as half my attention goes to dodging the drool flying around.

the new definition of fundie?

So apparently "fundie" means "Republican" on this site?

"But it's all good, not much we can do about it now that people decided to vote back into office the biggest spender in American history."

Presidents don't spend money. Congress spends money. And thanks to Republican obstructionism, we're spending money according to GW Bush's policies.

So, this person is saying they cut their worker's hours even though they know Obamacare hasn't even kicked in yet? And that argument has little evidence in it, it just throws around the word TAX like it's the most horrible thing ever, then what he thinks will be the consequences.

She is referring to the fine that businesses will pay if they do not provide their employees who work over 30 hours per week with health insurance. I am sure she sees this as a tax.

I am guessing she doesn't own a large business so unfortunately for her argument she is exempt from the penalties because the ACA exempts employers with 50 or less employees. On top of that it provides a tax credit for employers with 25 or less employees to help them provide insurance coverage.

Large businesses will see spending increases but only because of the cost of premiums. If they actually gave a shit about their employees and provided health insurance in the first place there would be no problem.

I have never seen so much misinformation about a single topic. These people need to be refuted and pushed aside so we can actually improved the rather watered down ACA.

You start political arguments with your customers? You're going to be very alone in your very empty store.

Yeah, good move. Chase your customers away and then blame the Liberal Commie Nazi Bastards who elected the n****r as President when your business goes under.

It's not a tax and the SCOTUS didn't say it was.

Maybe if you didn't refer to your customers as "rich fuckers" and "cock sucking pieces of shit," you wouldn't need to cut the hours of your employees. I'm guessing your slump has less to do with Obamacare and more to do with starting political arguments with customers.

She is referring to the fine that businesses will pay if they do not provide their employees who work over 30 hours per week with health insurance. I am sure she sees this as a tax.

Now I'm no expert about that kind of things, I may simply be projecting the way things work here in France (a country that currently has a ***gasp!*** socialist president :P), but wouldn't dividing for example 60-some hours of work between three employees instead of two actually cost that bitch more in payroll taxes, welfare charges and so on than what she'd save?

Anyway, this strategy reminds me of how Hovind had his wife make multiple cash withdrawals just under $10,000 to avoid having to report said withdrawals... It's definitely immoral, the bitch showed that she was aware of the consequences her trick had for her employees and she clearly doesn't care. With any luck, it is also illegal and she can join Dr Dino in jail: after all, if the ACA actually was a tax, this would be a clear attempt at tax dodging :P

@#1479730: fundamentalism isn't necessarily religious. If someone consider his belief system/ideology as more important than demonstrable reality or basic human decency, it's fundamentalism.

"Obamacare" is just legislation that asks HMO's politely and with little real binding power not to rape their customers up the ass with a spiked rod. Unfortunately, they don't give a shit. In fact, Obamacare seems to give the industry (not the government) a much tighter grip on your collective throats and they're just doing what any responsible capitalist is expected to do and milking that for all it's worth. Requiring businesses to provide their employees with healthcare has been around for a while by my understanding although many have found ways around that. Real, actual, universal public healthcare would be considerably less expensive to each individual than America's current nightmare hell where lives are given a dollar value and you have actual death panels (claim reviewers) issuing treatment denials to save a buck.

Please let me know if I understand the issue correctly:

- Before Obamacare business owners were not obligated to pay for their employees’ health insurance.
- Many business owners did it anyway, because they either realized that healthy employees are better for business or because they were somewhat altruistic.
- Obamacare now mandates every employer to pay for the health insurance of their employees.
- So the only reason you would have to pay more now is if you didn’t pay for your employees’ insurance before.

Did I understand that correctly? I am not an American, so please correct me if I wrote something wrong.

But as I understand it now you say that you were a shitty employer before and tried to save a few bucks while neglecting the well-being of your employees. Now the government mandates you to be an actually caring human being and you react by being an even shittier employer…
