[P]lease allow me to offer you a history lesson. My credentials go back nearly 3400 years, when my ancestors accepted God's laws at the foot of Mount Sinai; we Jews have seen civilizations come and go for a long time. And it is obvious that civilizations which appeared much greater than our little, poor, weak, and ever so unfashionable group, such as that of the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Persians, the Babylonians, and many others, are no longer there, and we are, still keeping those silly laws that we delusionally believe some sort of divinity gave us once upon a time. One of those silly laws, adopted by our daughter religions Christianity and Islam, forbids homosexuality. Do you think that this might have some bearing on the short lives of those greater civilizations and perhaps on our longevity? Is it even the slightest bit possible that God controls history, and men do not?

No.

Any other questions?

There are homosexual Jews, so maybe you're dead and don't know it.

Hasan Prishtina

No. There are gay Jews and the world keeps turning.

@Hasan Prishtina

He'd probably say they aren't True Jews.

Oh, yeah, spending the best part of 2,000 years as a persecuted and vilified minority, scattered to the four corners of the earth, culminating in being the principal victims of industrialised mass murder is a ringing endorsement of kashrut.

I'm having seafood for lunch, since you ask.

Spending thousands of years as an oft-scapegoated, persecuted minority, with the consolation of existing at all

vs

Bacon

I know what I'm picking. And that's just one of the many benefits of being goyim.

Also, if God does control history, do you think maybe he either a) hates Jews, thus all the persecution and whatnot, or b) is a complete tool who enjoys the suffering of his "chosen people"? Those look like the most obvious conclusions to me.

Also also, the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Babylonians, Persians, etc. are still around in one form or another. The Greeks in particular have maintained their culture just as much as the Jews; all they've lost is the position of political superpower, something the Jews never held, and polytheism. And most of those cultures also acheived much more in early years than the Jews have until very recently.

So basically, your cultural egotism is absolutely unwarranted. There's no point competing as there's not universal agreement on what constitutes success or quality in a culture, and most nationalists
merely pick their own qualities and laud them as the most important.

Your credentials are bullshit.
You jews have been worshiping your angry volcano god for barely 2800 years. (even less if you aren't an arab)
Your civilization is whichever civilization you happen to inherit from your ancestors.

Your cult survives because you hate everybody, and your leaders marry their own sisters

Please allow me to correct your fictional history.

Your big book of mythology originates 6000 years ago, when Sumerians wrote down their creation myth. You copied it into your mythology book.

Egypt still exists. The Roman Empire technically existed up until the high middle ages when the Byzantines were finally conquered by the Ottomans. Oh, and the Chinese have been around as a culture far longer than 3400 years. Now, with that out of the way, the reason the larger empires fell isn't because they allowed homosexuality but because they were so large. Large empires are not maintainable long term and only China has managed to somehow beat the odds and exist for as long as it has. Rebellion, war losses piling up, running out of resources, depleting the treasury, barbarian invasions, all of those have brought about the downfall of great empires. Not once has an empire's fall been attributed to a man fucking another man.

Except your state has not existed continuosly since these "laws" were handed down. So, as a continuous state, the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Chineese, and Indians and a few others have you beat even if they no longer exist in their original form.

I stopped reading at "My credentials go back nearly 3400 years."

12/12/2012 8:07:01 AM

Papabear

First, what your ancestors did does not give you any "credentials."

Second, no, it is not even the slightest bit possible that your God controls history.

P.S. I AM glad to see you admit the laws given in the OT are silly.

Wait a second, didn't that civilisation technically end when the Kingdom of Judah was conquered by the Babylonians?

I mean, modern Judaism can in no way be considered a continuation of the Kingdom of Israel or Judah.

@ Leighton Buzzard.
No you fuck off.
I know as much about jews and judaism as any educated person who actualy bothers to make themselves informed.

Jews; White guys who go to church on saturday, worship Yawah without Jesus, and dont eat bacon or lobster. (their loss)
Judaism; The religion of jews. Re-created by King Josiah around 650 bce, via his commissioning of Deuteronomy. Derived from slightly older, polytheistic volcano cult in eastern Palestine.
Worships a nasty god named Yawah. Lots of silly, bizzare, and frightening holy laws.
Sacred texts (the torah and talmud) were partialy cribbed from other older tests.
Engage in ritual genital mutilation.
Generaly secularized enough to be harmless.
Formerly persecuted by christians.
Still blamed for stupid shit they have bugger all to do with.

If you realy want to pick a fight, join the rest of the internet tough guys.
I'm fed up with idiots picking fights on the internet.
