Since I'm sure everyone else has already pointed out the idea of consenting adults which would, if michael were here reading this forum, fall on deaf ears, I'll take a different tack.
If someone wanted to, what would be so bad about marrying their dog? It would be better than being married to a woman, since a dog is always happy to see you when you get home, even if you've been out late drinking beer with your buddies. And they don't care if you've been petting other dogs, though they will sniff you a lot to see where you've been.
Seriously, though, what makes these idiots think that there will be a massive number of people who will want to marry animals just because gay marriage is legal? I'm heterosexual and married to a woman, but if gay marriage were legal in my state I wouldn't all of a sudden want to divorce her so I could marry my dog. If they really think this would be a real problem then they have serious issues.
