Progressives for years have been waiting for a moment like this so they can use to repeal the 2nd Amendment..they have been cowering in their basements hoping that something would happen that they could use..and they have a President in the White House who deplores our Constitution and wants it ripped to shreds..Obama doesn’t give a damn about these dead children, when he heard about it he probably did a cartwheel in glee that this is his opportunity to destroy the Constitution

Isn't the Constitution a document that is designed so that you can change it over time? Is it set in stone for all time, so that the decisions and values of an elite group of men in the eighteenth century rule over American society forever? Or is it inclusive of change?
Also, the 2nd Amendment talks about a well-regulated militia. It doesn't say that guns ought to be handed out to dangerous lunatics. The men who wrote it were shrewd enough not to want that, but they weren't clairvoyant, and they didn't foresee the rise of high-powered automatic weapons and billion dollar gun companies.

Just because you don't care about tragedies beyond their ability to be manipulated for your own gain doesn't mean that's true of everyone else.
Hoping that something like this would happen? More like knowing and expecting more incidents like this to happen. I was all in favor of gun ownership before all the mass shootings we had here this year, but I finally realized that I'm tired of hearing yet more news stories about armed gunmen killing numerous people. And this time, this time I just couldn't stomach the idea of innocent 6 and 7 year-olds dying in school, a place where they should feel at least a bit safe, just because gun nuts all over the country can't face life without their precious killing machines. And the sad part is that we know, WE KNOW that there will be more of these incidents in the future until we prevent easy access to firearms, and after these future shootings the gun nuts will STILL be fighting any form of responsible gun control tooth and nail. It's sickening, it truly is.
I guess I don't want my children to die some time in the future just so a bunch of paranoid gun nuts can feel safe. How many more people need to die just so you can feel safe?
I don't actually think gun control is even possible, there's so much artillery out there. Still, we ought to at least try.
And, how is the 2nd Amendment going to be repealed, what with e Republican controlled House, and all?
"and they have a President in the White House who deplores our Constitution and wants it ripped to shreds.."
No, he had to leave 4 years ago...
The Constitution talks about a militia under the command of..wait for it... the President.
As for the NRA, they don't have any more to do with the Constitution than the International Sugar Council. It's an lobbying and advertising adjunct of the firearms industry, masquerading as an issues group .
It's sad when guns have become religious artifacts and the second amendment the word of god that can never be changed.
Next time kids are killed at a US school and the US has not done anything with it's gun problem, please don't come and cry to me, I don't want to hear about your dead kids!

A$$hat to English translation -- The sane people have been force to wait for an heinous slaughter like this to have even a slim chance of enacting meaningful gun control.
"they have a President in the White House who deplores our Constitution and wants it ripped to shreds."
A$$hat to English translation -- The president, who is a constitutional lawyer and undoubtedly knows much more about constitutionality than me, wants to enact some gun control which might result in my having to get a background check to buy the dozens of guns I need to defend myself against imaginary dangers.
"Obama doesn’t give a damn about these dead children, when he heard about it he probably did a cartwheel in glee that this is his opportunity to destroy the Constitution."
A$$hat to English translation -- I hate the president because he's endangering my ridiculous excuses for owning a personal arsenal and he's a better person than me.
Years? With the Movie theater shooting, the Gabrielle Giffords shooting, Virginia Tech...
Well, really, why wait years?
I am sorry but you are a piece of shit.
No wait, I'm not sorry. You represent the worst in our country. You are the perfect example of what is wrong with our public discourse. The Fox news viewer, the freeper, the people who could care less about whether a statement is true or not as long as it is an attack on our President, any old slander will do.
I would be willing to bet that most people who spend their life in public service, dedicate themselves academically to studying the Constitution, become a Constitutional scholar, give up all of their privacy to serve as President for eight years, is more than likely not a person who hates the Constitution.
Now please go and learn how to overcome your bias, think critically, and start caring for the truth. Otherwise you will be marginalized more and more until you are laughed out of society.
@Doubting Thomas
You will never be safe, because something bad can always happen. The illusion of safety may make you feel better but you won't be any safer than you were before.
There's a higher chance that lightning could strike your house and burn it down in your sleep then there is of you getting in a spree killing.
You're a coward, plain and simple, you're just as pathetic as the gun nuts.
Confused?
