The comment earlier that stated that anyone who doesn't do the PoA [Pledge of Allegiance] is a future fag is right. There was one kid in my class who never said it and later came from the closet. Being a homo didn't bother me as much as his disrespect for our country and those who fought for it and founded it.

But if homosexuality is caused by demonic possession (as claimed by more than one fundie I've seen here), then it's not really his fault that he's a homosexual, and therefore not his fault that he wouldn't say the pledge, too.

Ahh, yes. That was the sound of a fundie saying you should be worshipping a flag, not God. Although, he also says that homosexuality doesn't bother him. Nominations for "Maybe there's a tiny shred of hope" Award, anyone?
Oh, OK. I guess I didn't read as far as I should have into the "as much as" phrase. To me, though, it sounds as if the "as much as" means that the former is irrelevant, and that the latter is the sole/nearly the sole reason. Prob'ly my mistake.
